I watch the Score spend years on shuffling guys around. Never placing someone new on the air until this week, hearing Joe Cowley was the closest ever and I am not sure he even was considering a radio gig. I actually would like to hear him have a "White Sox Weekly" show in studio taking calls as he does follow the team.

ESPN had less slots to fill so it is not as hard for them, but for the last 5 years it has been the L Holmes, Abatacolla, Goff, Zach, Jessie, Paruch show.

It's really time to stir the pot. Bring in an ex athelte with a personality! Bring in another raw guy that is willing to talk. I just can't take another guy who has been at the station for 8 years and copies Terry Boers comments or other hosts mannerisms.

cowley is VERY dry humor. caustic personality. he'd fit in at the score...and while I like Terry, he shouldn't have any acolytes...

As far as I know, Joe Cowley contributes something to the 670 "The SCORE"/White Sox Radio pregame show whenever the Sox are on the road this season. I believe Joe also has joined Chris Rongey on the "White Sox Weekly" show Saturdays before Sox games. He was on with Laurence Holmes twice this week on the 10a-Noon shift, one of those times with Sox reliever Matt Thornton. I'm not sure if Cowley was auditioning as a potential co-host for the 10a-Noon shift weekdays following "Mully & Hanley". This appears to be the one with Laurence Holmes, like it or not.

they can do it, but I don't have to like it...

I'm about to literally wave the white flag on this subject, fans! It seems as if not everybody wants Laurence Holmes to do the 10a-Noon shift weekdays on "The SCORE", let alone Mike Murphy stretching out his show to the full 4 hours from 10a-2p. Guess what? "Murph" is on vacation next week, and whether we like it or not, Holmes is doing 4 hour shows following "Mully & Hanley" from 10a-2p! You read it right... In fact, if fans don't want Laurence to host middays full time, let alone "Murph", I hope you have better ideas, even if "SCORE" management isn't listening!

I wish there was better talent as well, all the Score seems to do is turn producers into sports show hosts, and some of them don't have the knowledge that several on this board do. On top of that, some of them feel the need to force topics on their show......

Jason Griffin and Andy Garcia are 2.

Now go away Riles, neither I or anyone else in this market appears willing to give you any more work. Happy Independence day to you... and your buddy Costanza.

I'm telling you, Goff could carry a show with a good partner...but I may be in the minority on that one...

Greenie was a reporter/update guy. I don't recall him producing.

Hmm, Tommy Williams does a sportstalk show

Greenie was originally a producer. J Hood, T-Dub and Fred Huebner all started out as producers too.

BTW, the premise is somewhat faulty. No where is it written in the industry that you must promote producers to show hosts. The list of Score producers who sucked on the air is too long to go into.

He's an old school producer from the late 90s and early 00s. He used to produce T-Dub's show, I think.

Just because Greenberg has been successful doesn't mean he's good.

Thanks for the comments. Joe Cowley is pretty good at sports talk, but he travels and covers the Sox. Maybe more "at-bats" in the off-season.

That didn't stop you from giving Hanley a show. He travels to 41 Bulls games.

By the way, every time Drinky and Goff read here that you're gonna give more "outsiders" some "at bats" they are cursing at the board.

Yea, then you can call him in from the bullpen on the weekends and if he fails, he can be pulled and sent to the showers. Mitch, speak english and myabe try and give a straight answer.

Maybe Mitch hasn't figured that out yet about Hanley.
