You fat bastard, how does it feel backing the wrong horse, until it let you down?

I guess when that is the only chance you got, I see why you did it, but too bad you never realzied that maybe if you spoke up and challenged North on ANYTHING, maybe the whole show would have been better.

That a way to take a risk Fred and speak.

So how does it feel doing updates for Laurence now?

Probably the same way it felt doing them for Mike.

He gets to sleep later though and he is prolly better rested.

He was doing his job. He was partnered with a host who had complete 100% control. He wasn't backing any horse. He was doing what his bosses asked of him and he's still employed. He may be doing updates now, but he'll probably get another chance soon enough.

I highly doubt that Fred had much power on the MNMS.

Fred had an almost decade long run on drive time in the third largest market in the country. People would kill for that on their resume.

I don't have much sympathy for Fred, considering that there were countless stories on here of how much of an ass he was to producers and such back when he and Murphy worked mornings. Also, there was that story of someone on this board seeing him and his wife as a grocery store and they saw him going off on a pharmacist or something.

Fred still has a job and he probably makes a decent to good amount of coin. He will be alright.

I believe he was also the one who took Drinky off the north show for fill ins.

the score can't think too much of fredrico otherwise why wouldn't he be considered for the 10am-12pm slot?

I think he's viewed as a career second banana. You don't give an Ed McMahon his own talk show. Fred's there to play nice with whoever's in control. The guy I wonder about is Ofman. He was told to haul his ass in there now by 6 AM to do the morning updates. Mike North's little hissy fit changed a lot of people's lives over there, didn't it?

It sounds to me as if George Ofman & Fred Huebner have flipflopped assignments at "The SCORE". With "Mully & Hanley" now doing morning drive at SportsRadio 670, Ofman has taken over for Huebner doing morning sports updates. Fred has taken over the majority of George's updates the rest of the day.

I'll bet Offman got the option since he's the 16 year update vet at the Score.

I'm pretty sure he wanted mornings and preferred getting off at 11 or noon. Whatever it is.

It just would seem that Fred would stay in mornings if George didn't want to do it. Fred's been used to starting at 6am for 10 years. That's why I think Mitch gave Offman that choice.

I would guess that Mitch took Fred off mornings to allow Mully and Hanley to make a complete break from the old morning show.

That makes the most sense.

I think Mulli and Hanley are doing a great job, by the way, but there are times when I think having Offman give some input when talking baseball might be an added bonus.

Ofman is an easy target for some good natured jabs. M&H, being the sarcastic bunch that they are, should take advantage of it too.

I think that's exactly why Huebner's no longer doing updates before 10a weekday mornings. I think the only leftover from the North show is John "Rock" Memola, who I guess is now one of "Mully & Hanley's" producers, and decided not to follow "Pappy" out the door.
