Great show this morning. I've really enjoyed the topics they've touched on today that typically do not get addressed on The Score. They spent a little time on the Favre issue but did not go overboard. Good baseball talk with Cowley too. The Bears discussion has been awesome! Thayer's going to address Notre Dame football next and then they're going to have some Blackhawk talk with Patrick Kane in a little while. Pretty well rounded show; I was expecting the whole thing to be about the Bears or Favre.

Very impressed with Thayer's all around knowledge. I'm not sure if there's any interest on his part, but I would love to see The Score look at giving Thayer a regualr gig. Does he still spend his offseason in Hawaii?

As much as I'd like to hear Thayer the sports whisperer is unlistenable.

I thought today's show was very good, too. I've always liked Thayer, and as the OP said he had a pretty good knowledge of subjects beyond football.

I haven't really heard much of Zaidman, but thought he's been OK the times I have heard him. What's the main gripe about him?

ZZ does have a weird, creepy voice. But, I think he knows his stuff and he is a good interviewer.

Zach doesn't know shit. Maybe a little football but sometimes he sounds stupid discussing that. He certainly doesn't know the other sports.

I'm the first ZZ basher here, but he deserves nothing but kudos for the way he conducted the show today. It was an excellent example of "by the book" performance that they should include the CD with in the textbooks for all young broadcasters out there.

1. Called the topics
2. Dropped teasers
3. Called breaks
4. Reannounced the topic(s) coming out of breaks
5. Stood back and allowed for conversation to develop between Thayer and guests (I only caught Cowley and Joniak)
6. Didn't wisper
7. Didn't act like he's the supreme authority on everything
8. Unlike some (North and Larry come to mind) didn't turn the announcement of topics, current and future, into a segment of their own.
9. Left an impression of an overall crisp show. Very Dan McNeil-esque.

It was good, it was a safe radio, it was well choreographed and executed. It was informative. It was not entertaining. I need some "loud and persistent rapping at someone's back door."

I never got that in-joke. What's it mean?

It's just another way of saying "taking it up the ass."

Back in the day, instead of using the "loud and persistent rapping" phrase, they used to start each show by asking, "Will somebody be hit in the seat today?" Well, after the Janet Jackson situation the station censored a lot of what B&B could say. As such, they were no longer allowed to say stuff like, hit in the seat, by cracky, diddling, douchebag, and one of Terry's favorite phrases, piss on it.

"By cracky" lives on. Terry's fightin' The Man.
