So I got on the score podcast and see Murph did an interview with Billy Williams. So I listen, and he wants to talk about the 08 cubs, their chances at the WS, etc.. But what does the whole show turn into, a 1969 rehash. Murph goes ga ga about WHAT IF they had a guy like Mark DeRosa on that team. HUH!?!? Ya, what would have happened if they had Babe Ruth come back from a time machine too.

Geez, can ppl give it up about that team. They did nothing, they lost. I hate Murph's generation of Cub Fans who just love that no nothing team. You know if that team won the WS they wouldn't be as famous as for blowing the pennant like they did. My team was the 84 cubs and all these 69 cub guys crap on that team for some reason. AT LEAST THE 84 CUBS WON SOMETHING! I think they were all afraid the 84 cubs would have surpassed the 69 cubs in lore.

Just give it up with 1969.

Santo still holds the same feeling as well. When discussing the Mets loss last night during the game, Santo's comment to the Mets blowing up in the ninth was "That's great news"

My God, I can't believe I'm going to do this, but I'm going to have to stick up for Santo.

His team fell victim to the Mets... I'd hate them forever, too.

If you lose a division by 8 games, you can't hate the team that beat you. The Mets ended up with the second best record in baseball and the Cubs collapsed. Why hate the Mets? The Cubs weren't even close to them when the dust settled.

You're assuming Santo's a rational, logical person...that doesn't come across in 99% of his broadcasting career, so I doubt it's true for him in his "persons" life...
