What would everyone want to see done with the 10 to noon slot on the Score.Evidently Larry isn't the answer!

Holmes has the job. It's just a matter of whether they give him a partner, which I find unlikely to happen.

I really don't care what they do with it, as I'm never near a radio at that time anyways...

Folks, whether we like it or not, Laurence Holmes is the man for midmornings on "The SCORE". We can bitch & moan all we want, but in the eyes of "SCORE" management, Laurence was best suited among the bench guys to land a daily show Monday through Friday in the wake of Mike North's decision to leave WSCR & the subsequent move of Mike Mulligan & Brian Hanley to morning drive. It remains to be heard if 670 will spend CBS Radio's money to hire a co-host for Laurence's show.

What a waste of 50000 watts, 30 states think LaHo is a big Chicago host.

just wait for the ratings to come out, if larry is getting tatooed then hopefully they will 86 him. everyone needs to listen to silwaddle so larry loses his gig

That's just a waste of time, advertiser and listener goodwill. Plus, it took them years of North's bad ratings to do anything

That would be my point too. Plus I think they're feeling some pressure, too, from what Mully/Hanley did to them ratings-wise. It makes their voices more shrill, and I have a problem with that to begin with...

I'm tired of having to switch stations back and forth all day! First one to line up a listenable daytime lineup wins!

Going to be a MAJOR ANNOUCNEMENT for Laurence too?
From what I read this morning, it could be 2 or 3 weeks before "SCORE" Program Director Mitch Rosen announces the obvious...Laurence Holmes will be mid-morning host, and Mitch will officially announce his co-host. The shame of this is that I have not heard any other "SCORE" guys other than LoHo audition for the show between 10a-Noon. If it were up to me, it would be a 4 hour midday show from 10a-2p instead of splitting up the show in half, with Mike Murphy hosting Noon-2p Monday-Friday. I thought when Mike North left, I thought it would be addition by subtraction when Mike Mulligan & Brian Hanley took over morning drive...I don't think the bosses of WSCR are listening to any of us.

I gave Laurence a week...but when I heard his voice a little after 10, I turned the station.

Just can't do it. Good Bears reporter and fill-in, but he's way over his head as a midday host.

That basically sums up how I feel as well.

I generally think he's fine as a Bears reporter, far from perfect, but, pretty solid, but as a host, no thanks.

Yep, and I think that's a rip off.

1. Assuming you're keeping to the 2-hour/2-hour format, Larry's not a full time host. I'd
sooner have, Paruch, Bartosch, Goff, Drinky (in differing configurations) than Larry or
Larry with a cohost.
2. But you're ignoring that Murph can, does, and is more comfortable doing 4-hour shifts
than 2-hour shifts. He's better able to get his timing down, and is less stressed. You
get a better Murph show. (which already gets monster ratings.)

It becomes a matter of whether Mitch wants to get new people in on the daytime shifts. Although in terms of "Score originals," you now are talking Boers, Murph and Hanley (been around as a fill-in since day one.) The "face" of the station's been changing quite a bit, actually.

Well get out the checkbook and spend CBS Radio's $$$$ and get someone not on "The SCORE" payroll who is better. They're not listening to you, and they're sure as hell not listening to me!

Yes, where is Mitch?!? As for new guys, I meant new hosts. They can hire from within or whatever. Just, ... not Larry of the four breaking stories!

That's exactly what I meant. I think it's not just Mitch, but since CBS Radio and the former Westinghouse/Infinity Broadcasting acquired "The SCORE" & its FM sister station 93XRT from Diamond Broadcasting about a decade ago, they rarely spend any of the company's money on new talent. They always seem to hire from within, and on the cheap.

Tim Doyle brings NOTHING to 670 whenever he's on, and it doesn't get any worse in Big Ten Basketball year in, year out than Northwestern!

Since Larry the intern took over at 10 I have heard 3 minutes total and that was all by mistake or as a result of my slow reflexes. I turn the station as fast as I can after Mully & Hanley. It is too bad for the Score because I'm betting M&H are delivering a huge audience to the 10:00 show and then as soon as Larry opens his mouth that audience heads for the hills until B&B. Murph's ratings will feel this pain as M&H always delivered him a big audience lead-in. Larry can't carry his own water. This will be interesting to see but certainly not to hear.
