I think his name is Darryl Hawk..........very fresh. seems sports savy! A complete 180 from Baker and Rose the other 2 Afro-American sports guys. Doesn't get to ghetto when doing a sportscast! We will have to see but on 1st impressions could be a winner! |

When they introduce the sports segment, they should use a recorded hawk sound, "CAW-CAW" and when it's over, "He gone!" |

To be honest, I never watch Rose or Baker and think to myself:"Man, I can't watch this, these guys are just too ghetto". |

Is there anything more useless than the sports segments on the local news? THey give you nothing of substance. |

To be honest, I never watch Rose or Baker and think to myself:"Man, I can't watch this, these guys are just too ghetto". Well, he has been there 20+ years, so someone must like him. I don't think he does a bad job, he just comes off as a little arrogant. I once saw him crossing State St., that Great Street, just north of the ABC7 building a couple years back as I was heading to Popeye's for some of their wonderful fried chicken. Mmmmmmmm... Popeye's Chicken... |

The man's name is actually Daryl Hawks, just so you know. I haven't seen enough of his work to offer an opinion of the newest member of the NBC 5 sports team. I'm not sure he's the new #1 guy over there, only because they believe in a "team philosophy" when it comes to sports coverage. While other newsrooms have a true #1 sportscaster with Mark Giangreco at ABC 7, Dan Roan at WGN's CW 9, Corey McPherrin at FOX 32 and Ryan Baker at CBS 2, NBC 5 seems to believe in the "sportscaster by committee" system. You never know who will be on every weeknight... |
