Laurence, Drop this. Or at the very least stop talking about it the whole show. Nobody looks forward to it.

Maybe just do it on friday and don't tell people it will be stuck in their head, just HIT EM with it. Right smack in the middle of Hamp comparing anything to the 85 Bears.

Everything Larry does he tells people how great it is. Larry also has to tell people how great he is every day. If he didn't we wouldn't know.

He does this for every segment. When "The Pulse" is on, he is constantly explaining what the segment is, and he does it for this bad song of the day segment as well. Not only are the segments bad, so are the constant explanations of the segments. How about dropping the segments, and just talk sports for the 2 hours, minus commercials?

I'm telling you Larry sounds just like an off-air intern who just go this first shot at the mic. He is like a child the way he looks at everything he does with such wonder. Like each bright shiny object, in this case time-worn routines for a radio show, appears to him to have been invented right before his eyes. He really is embarassing to listen to. I have no idea how he and Hamp will be able to last six months. Larry is probably a very good go-fer and would be a nice eager intern but as an on-air host he is unlistenable. Full stop.

That's exacly what his phony act is. He's the fuckin' wide-eyed wonderer. Just like a fuckin kid. Only he's 32.

Larry - Mommy, mommy!!!! What's that it the sky?

Mom - That's the sun, Larry

Larry - It's beautiful. What are those white puffy things?

Mom - Those are clouds.

Talk like an adult Larry. Don't make everything out to be an amazing discorery or observation. You're listeners are adults. You can talk to us that way. People aren't stupid, Larry. They can pick up on your phony, patronizing style.

A fake one at that too. Some moron must have told him that he should convey youthfulness, freshness, and innocense, so now he's pulling this crap.

Loho, learn from Terry, but do a better job learning than your pal Z did. His Terry wannabeism sucked.

He's been pulling this same crap for years. When he would do his "ME" show he would spend the first 5 minutes back from a commercial break explaining what the "ME" show was
"it's ME, alone, just ME Laurence Holmes, ME, the ME show, you guys can call in and talk to ME about sports, I'll give you my thoughts on sports, my thoughts on race in sports, anything at all that you want ME to talk about as long as it's about my thoughts on sports or race in sports. Hmmm, I'm tired of talking about ME, why don't you guys call in and talk to ME about ME." what a douchebag

Maybe this is Mitch's new plan? Demographic of 18-24? MySpace

I always thought "The Me Show" was a little presumptuous for a late evening fill-in for when the Sox and Blackhawks weren't playing. Maybe that was the idea.

I'm just frustrated by the sycophants that call his show ever day and start each call with the Ode to Laurence. "Hey Laurence, great show, man, I just want to tell you how great I think it is you have a show, love listening every day, you're really great, man."

When Steve Stone is on the same thing happens.

It is weird. I don't know what these people are hearing from Larry. They have to be dumb. Larry should offend the sensibilities of everybody.

Also, I think when people call the radio, they feel the need to say "You're great. Love the show." I think it's just "radio caller habbit".

Goff, Drinky, Larry, Jen Jen and Pappy get all of this on their Myspaces I've noticed. It's always "You're the greatest","You're the best talk show host ever" and such.

We're the only ones who know the truth and speak it. Hail CSFMB!!!!!

Why not? We've had people here clamoring for younger hosts, who can better speak to their generation, etc. It just so happens that generation of hosts also come cheaper. Hmm.

I heard some of the show today and Laurence was brimming with childlike wonder over goddamn "Chocolate Rain." First of all, in the Internet culture, you gotta jump on a meme fast or else it's old news. A bit from three months ago is worn out, and a bit from an entire year ago, which this is, is completely exhausted, cross-bred in every way possible, beaten to death, co-opted for a Weezer music video, the works. There's nothing left there.

Second, the whole time he was like "WHAT COULD THIS EVEN BE ABOUT?!?!" Well, obviously, it's about black people.

Larry certainly doesn't have his finger on the PULSE of popular culture.

That's probably true for some people.

I never call radio shows.

I just post here. I can say whatever the hell I want here. I can also respond to subsequent posts. Nobody can cut me off.

With the Score, if you go against the host, even if you are making good points, they cut you off. Score hosts can't stand to be made to look like a fool. Most of them at least.

Most of them don't need any help from the callers to make them look like fools. Hey, that's right Laurence...Murph, I'm looking at you.

Oh yeah. They do it on their own. But they don't realize it. It's only when people call to tell them they are stupid. That's when you get cut off quickly. Their egos can't take it.

It lessens your chances of being hung up on or discarded, ...

Yeah, but what does it do to your chances of being discredited?

You forgot to add:
Larry- OK, all you listeners call in now and tell me what your reaction was when you saw the sun and those clouds. What did you think? What did you feel? At that moment, did you text your friends and tell them to look up at the sky, too? We wanna hear your thoughts on this.
