Football fans and political junkies alike should be satisfied with tonight's broadcast game plan on WBBM-AM (780), the CBS Radio all-news station and home of the Bears.
Bowing to the historic nature of Barack Obama's acceptance speech, the station will cut away from the Bears' preseason finale at Cleveland to carry the address from the Democratic Convention live. But the game also will be simulcast in its entirety on sports/talk WSCR-AM (670).

Here's something to chew on for a moment. I overheard something earlier this week that there was a request to the NFL that tonight's early preseason kickoffs that were supposed to start @ 6:30p would kick off instead just after 6p to accommodate Barack Obama's acceptance speech on the last night of the Democratic National Convention in Denver at INVESCO Field. The Bears & Browns is not the one, but the regular season opener next Thursday between the Redskins & Giants at the Meadowlands will start just after 6p on NBC Sports to accommodate John McCain's acceptance speech at the EXEL Energy Center in St. Paul on the last night of the Republican National Convention. I thought there was such a thing as equal time...
