bRISTOL,cONN,

ESPN is preparing to admit that as many as 3 teams from the midwest might make the baseball playoffs in a move sure to put a dent in the network's traditional east coast bias. Two teams from Chicago, one from Milwaukee and perhaps one from Minnesota will be among 3 teams competing in the post season.

After the Mets loss today, several staffers had to be talked in off the window ledge as network execs vowed to work harder to shove the Boston Red Sox and Philadelphia Phillies down the throats of American baseball fans.

The network has been hard at work today googling maps to find the location of the midwestern teams, as well as finding photos and other information that might be useful.
All Sportscenter shows will make mention of the flurry of midwest teams in baseball's elite 8 but bosses were quick to add that a feature about grocery shopping with David Ortiz and a check of Ryan Howard's Ipod would quickly follow.

Told that The Rays might be considered an eastern team, one exec smirked, shook his head and exited quickly.A gunshot was heard shortly after but a director said it was fireworks from a local fest,
