how do you explain the fact that Pro Football Weekly on radio is on over 300 stations across North America, the PFW paper has a HUGE circulation, and the TV show is on everywhere in the US
Just a few guesses:
- tremendous sales crew;
- competitive pricing tactics;
- connections;
- NFL's popularity;
- significant geography-independent vanilla "fan" population in the non-NFL geographies;
- PFW competition worse than PFW.
Look, Smith, as a Bear season ticket holder (former) I'll give your guy his dues. He was ok in the booth with Joniak and Thayer and every now and then I'd have a portable radio on at the games. But that's about it. If he gives me a good Bear talk going beyong what the print guys say, I'll listen. But when he comes on every time, we're almost half-way through the season, and still tells us that Angelo f'd up by not having a vet QB and an open position contest in the camp... that just bores me and hints that it's time to channel surf. As dumb as Hub might think his listenership, myself included, is, repeating these points twice was quite enough to announce his position on the issue. Anything more than that is just a straight withdrawal against the balance in his credibility account and hints at some bad blood that may exist between him and the turbin wearing GM. Again, I don't care what went on. It's just not a good listen in the way it comes across. And, by the way, stop parading the fact that you're on on Fan 590 and Team 980 north of the border. I travel there for biz and heard some of their borefest. I'll take the collection of worst Jesse episodes followed by an extended edition of the Towering Line Drive show over the best they ever offered any day of the week.
