Today on www.stevestone.com, Stone refers to some "less than knowledgable baseball fans" who didn't realize the talent of Jaques Jones. Jaques Jones was mentioned on Mike Murphy's show today as a result of a blurb in Phil Rogers Trib column Sunday. It seems Jones is trying to make the majors again by playing in the Mexican League. After playing an "OH NO!" drop, Mike said maybe Jones can make it back "with the help of his agent,Steve Stone."

Murph and Stone are both tools. They deserve each other.

Great stuff this afternoon.
Murph kept playing a Stoney drop about the Peavy deal. The first drop came from someone saying that deal might take place, then the Stoney drop followed with talk about it being dead. Murph must have been having a good laugh for a while.
Then Jesse comes on right before the end of the show to burst Murph's bubble, saying that the deal might not take place at all -- maybe not until midseason. Your could hear the anger in Murphy's voice as he tried to pooh-pooh Jesse's sources.

You want to see 2 grown up fight like kids, here you go. These 2 losers have such thin skins it's like you want to contribute bullshit into their little feud.

at this point with Stone's useless predictions piling up, I'd take more of Murph's side

"Well thanks, City of Fools. Love our posters, love our callers. Now, if we can get Bud Selig (Bud Selig declined to talk to us) to move back to both leagues not having the DL, see the way baseball was meant to be played, and we can get our sabermetrics guys to install a quality bullpen stat, have you heard that? Now, well a starting pitcher goes 6 innings giving up 3 or less runs, that's a quality start, right? Now, if the bullpen goes the final 3 innings with giving up less than a run and a half; that would be a quality bullpen start......I mean a quality bullpen outing, right? [Murph goes on another 30 minutes, taking time out from the explanation for a Brown's chicken read and a Vuuuuuuuuuuke read] and that's why Santo should be in the Hall of Fame."

It really isn't hard. It's more of a transcription of his show on any given day.
