WSCR will no longer have Dr. J and stocks and jocks in the am.(just when we could use the advice.) George Offman will be on from 5 to 6.

Well, not really George Ofman. According to the Score's website:

"Starting Tuesday at 5am, The Mully and Hanley Pre-Game Show hits the airwaves! Hear a recap of the best interviews and content from the Mully and Hanley Show with live Scoreboard Updates with George Ofman...all to get you ready for the show at 6am!"

I'm not sure how much "getting ready" one needs to do to listen to M&H, but whatever . . .

The SCORE used to have a best of segment in the early morning about 10 years ago. I don't know if there is enough to fill one hour these days.

Looks like the market has not been kind to Chief or Dr. J.

Dr. J supersticiously walks thru a tavern I frequent while waiting for my train. Usually at least one person ridicules him or flat out insults him. He just keeps walking. I guess thats the best way to deal with it but his arrogance is annoying.

These are not the best of times for those who follow the stockmarket, and I can't say I'm surprised "Stocks & Jocks" is no more on "The SCORE"... :(

I feel neglected, unloved, ignored. Nobody has responded to the humor in my "Socks" post in over 24 hours. My avatar is Mike North in his black socks. (balck socks?!)

Why aren't you surprised? I hate this decision.

I wonder if Dr. Jon Najarian himself lost so much money in this roller coaster of a market, that he couldn't continue the show for the early risers...

Shark,

I've seen Dr. J on CNBC a lot lately. If he finally made it there he might not need the AM show on SCR.

I think you're referring to "Fast Money", which airs at 4 & 8p weekdays on DIRECTV 355 from New York's NASDAQ MarketSite in Times Square.

He's been doing fast money for a while now...his brother has been a regular for over a year now, and he's filled in quite a few times since then...

Sun-Times columnist Lewis Lazare wrote about "Stocks & Jocks" demise in detail this morning. It turns out "SCORE" Program Director Mitch Rosen wants to keep the sports talk at Sports Radio 670 going all the time, and didn't feel that the show was a perfect fit with the station's format. Although Jon Najarian was a guest with Roe Conn earlier this week on 890 WLS, Rosen hinted that "Dr. J" might still be incorporated at some point in much shorter form.

Where does CNBC tape every day? Dr. J. must be racking up the frequent flyer miles.

CNBC's headquarters are now in Englewood Cliffs, NJ. They used to be in Fort Lee when they started, circa 1989, but relocated a few years ago..."Fast Money" tapes live at the NASDAQ Marketsite in New York's Times Square, just for the record.

Just love the timing of the axe. Bet it gets personal-- I wonder how much IRA dough Mitch or some other CBS execs upstairs spilled into the economic mess (based on Dr J and PTI advice at a time when all advice looks bad in the short term). Trading can be an expensive sport.

I'll miss the exceptional social commentary by the Chief. Too bad the Score didn't give them a longer leash.
