Jeff Dickerson just announced that they will be giving away a four pack of tickets to the Alamo Bowl featuring Northwestern and Missouri. Sounds great, but the package does not include air fare or hotel. Congrats on winning your tickets, but it will still cost you somewhere in the ballpark of over $1000 to go to the game.

What a stupid giveaway. Sure if its a Bear game or something that you could actually get to it would be fine. But, why give a prize away that's going to cost you a good chunk of change? Thanks a lot to our friends at AT&T.

Could not agree more. They actually pushed this with a "SOMETIME IN THE NEXT HOUR"

Granted they got my attention because it was such a dick move.

If they did it to be funny, then I would be OK with it, but this sucks.

I do know a legal case exists of a Radio DJ giving away Keys to a Corvette, yes JUST THE KEYS

She sued the station and won a Corvette!

but they JD did say, we are not paying for your flight to the game or for your hotel.

Maybe Next we can get some upper deck Bulls tix for the Monday game in NJ

Big Fan - It was a WLS-AM promotion gone bad, the DJ was named Mike MacDonald & the "keys" were won by a guy whose brother's a lawyer = lawsuit.

Big Fan - I finally found it so here it is. EOM
Here's your brand new car! Not!: One infamous alumnus was overnight DJ Mike McDonald. In 1988, he teased one listener by awarding her shiny keys to a brand new car, which there was not. He was subsequently fired.

Overnight DJ Mike McDonald was fired by WLS-AM in 1988 after facetiously awarding a listener who answered a simple question the "keys to a brand-new shiny Porsche." There was no Porsche and shortly thereafter no job as the station has to reach a settlement with the listener.
