Today Larry teased us and said later in the show he would give us a reason why, even if we're not really into DePaul basketball, tonight's game at Syracuse might be kind of fun to listen to.

The reason? Zach Zaidman is going back to his alma mater to call the game.

Wow! Has that ever happened before in the history of sports broadcasting? That WILL be fun! You'll find me by my radio at 6:00!

Did he really say this in a serious manner? That's suppose to be a draw in Larry's mind? Zack broadcasting from his old school makes a bad Depaul team interesting. Good or bad, you're only gonna get Depaul hardcore Depaul fans to listen. If they're at home they'll watch it on TV.

Another example of how Larry sees the world. Everything is impressive and amazing to him. Even bullshit like Zack broadcasting from his school. "Don't you find that really, really amazing Hamp?"

Yes, he was serious. He had ZZ on to talk about it. Zach told about going back to the old campus radio station and looking at pictures on the wall of Syracuse alums who have made it big in broadcasting and how humbled he was. To ZZ's credit, one of the pictures was of Dick Stockton and he said Stockton USED TO BE a good broadcaster.

Then Larry went on to tell another fascinating story about how he texted all his buddies when the Hawks were scoring all their goals last night. Larry loves to talk about his texting capabilities.

Then I went into a boredom-induced coma and woke up to hear Murph bashing Steve Stone.

Sounds like Larry. Simple events in his personal life are facinating to him so he thinks they are facinating to listeners.

Tomorrow Larry's going to talk about the magic of DTV rabbit ears.

Almost all of it, yes. I was working at home, had the radio on in one room, went into another room where I could still hear it and ended up listening to most of it.

Stuck in traffic last night, I was flipping the AM dial one frequency at a time to see how far away of a signal I could find (as AM travels very far at night). When I hit on 810 I heard a broadcast of the DePaul/Syracuse game out of Albany, NY. Went back and forth between it and the Score for awhile. I like Zach well enough, but the Syracuse call was much better.
