The purpose of this thread is not just to bitch about not getting something that I was told on-air that I would be receiving. It's more, to see just how common this is. I have gotten all kinds of prizes, incuding rounds of golf, 3 jerseys, cash, and a ton of girt card/certificates. I am thankful for all the things I have gotten. But in the past year, I have had promises made of gift cards/certificates that never arrrived. The last was for a $50.00 gift certificate to Boston Blackies, from the Waddle and Silvy show. It makes me wonder if a) the interns are just pocketing these for themselves? and b) how often this happens?

I had won tickets to the Bulls skybox once

I also won tickets to the Bears game at UofI when they played the Jets. Bus ride down there and tickets to the game. 2 drinks at a bar before hand and lunch. I was buzzed by the time we hit Monee though. Drunk by 10am. :drunken: I won these tickets at a remote Mac was hosting out in Mokena one night.

Steve,

This has always been a pet peeve of mine. HATE to hear when our customers aren't taken care of as promised. I do know that our producers, promotions dept and MGT have taken steps to improve this dramatically. Still, things fall through the cracks. If you ever have a problem or a question w/ something like this, please PM me directly.

Sounds like you should check with your promo guys about a $50 Boston Blackies Gift Certificate won by Elmhurst Steve.

This seems to be a common thread. Ironically, the only prize I ever got in a timely fashion was a razor that I won on the old Silvy and Carmen 9-noon show. Won a few things from MJH, and a gift certificate on 'Talkin Baseball' and it was only after I PM'ed Mac (which I hated to do for something that wasn't even won on his show) that I ended up getting my prize in the mail.

I'm thankful that I've won the Hearts of America and there is no amount of money that adoration and worship can buy, believe me!

Just for the purposes of giving credit where it is due, I am happy to report, that Silvy has gotten in touch (insert line here) with me and has assured me that the issue will be resolved. I never posted the thread anticipating that Silvy or anyone else from the station was going to see it and handle things, but thats what seems to be happening. I really just wanted to see how many other people have had these kinds of problems. But I do appreciate Silvy taking responsibility, even though he was not directly responsible for the foul-up in the first place at all. I just hope they can figure out whats happening to these prizes that seem to be getting "lost" and take measures to prevent the problems in the future. I would bet it's just some intern pocketing them, but who knows...
