Webby you sound too happy and you apologize too much!

I think Webby needs to lose a $100 on game just to fire him up!

No need to apologize either about offending Sox fans! They can take it! They're tough guys! South side! Yo!

I am thinking Webby becomes 2nd guy in the booth with Mac! and the new show is named

2 1/2 sports guys!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Ok,maybe not, sounded better in my head)

Webby or the King! Should be teamed with Mac and Jurco.

Hey, Webby good move not going down with the SS North!

I would cut Matt Weber a little slack, Big Fan. After all, he produces the train wreck that is "Hampton & Holmes" middays on "The SCORE". Besides, "Webby" doesn't get the airtime other younger "SCORE" guys like Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch, Matt Abbatacola, Jason Goff, Chris Rongey and even Mike Bloomberg, not to be confused with the Mayor of New York, tend to get on a part-time basis as hosts on the CBS Radio-owned sports talker & White Sox flagship. Besides, I'm not sure when "Webby" will be behind the mike again as a host.

Big Fan is cracking me up today. His posts are a little - how should I say it? - tipsy!

Yeah, I want to read threads that are nothing but bigfan and SHARK. It would be like intercepting a conversation from another planet.

I appreciate the advice Big Fan. My only thing is... if I'm too nice then I'm soft and need an edge, but if I'm edgy and controversial then I'm a meatball and a blabbering idiot. I guess I'm just trying to find that happy medium!!! Thanks for tuning in tho!!!

To be honest with you...I'm waking up then commuting when it's on so I've only really seen bits and pieces of it. One of these days I'll sit and watch an entire show so I can give it a fair review.

"fair" might be too generous. I'd go with "poor."

Fans, "Webby" is getting 2 more chances to host local programming on "The SCORE" this weekend. After checking out the schedule at 670thescore.com, I notice "Webby" will be holding court Saturday 3:30-8p after DePaul likely loses another basketball game in the Big East vs. Pittsburgh at Allstate Arena. As an added bonus, "Webby" and I believe John "Rock" Mamola will be tag teaming Sunday 12Noon-3p before WSCR heads to Hawaii for Westwood One's coverage of the Pro Bowl. Just so you know...

Actually Weber is with Joe Ostrowski this coming Sunday and believe it or not....Weber and myself will be live at the Auto Show on Valentine's Day from 4-8pm I believe.

Come on out!!

Thanks for the correction, Rock, as well as the plans for next Saturday at the Auto Show. I've been to the Auto Show on at least a couple of occasions and I've enjoyed it each time. Not sure about this year though...Gotta wear comfortable shoes & bring plenty of $$$$. Like everything else, it's not cheap to go.

Webby was fine. He just didn't seem comfortable with some of you creepy internet folks.

I heard part of the Webby-Ostrowski show yesterday afternoon. They were talking about sports rivalries that have "disappeared," which isn't a bad topic. I found the conversation to be somewhat jolting, though, because Webby and Ostrowski seemed so interested in listing all of the vanishing rivalries in rapid succession that the conversation had no focus and almost no point. I like conversations to have a point. These guys need to slow down a little bit and figure out how to make things more interesting and comfortable for their audience.

Another problem I had was that neither of these guys really came off as having a distinct personality. I think both Webby and Ostrowski were preoccupied with sounding "authoritative," but in the process of doing so, they forgot to be entertaining.

I caught a little bit of it too, tried to, actually. Webby's cadence is a little fast, somewhat similar to what Matty did when he was still getting comfortable...other than that, I think he has promise. He certainly works hard.

Post subject:  Re: Webby Needs an Edge!

It was kinda hard to tell who was "Webby" & who was Joe Ostrowski during their 3 hour Sunday afternoon show yesterday. All I could figure was that Joe was driving the bus and "Webby" was riding in the sidecar between 12Noon-3p, but it was hard to tell these 2 apart. There are two other guys who sound very similar, and whenever 670 "The SCORE" goes to Sporting News Radio on Saturday & Sunday afternoons, you hear the voices of Bob Berger & Bob Stelton, live from the SNR studios in Los Angeles. Berger & Stelton are very hard to distinguish, because Bob & Bob sound almost the same in nature...The next time WSCR airs SNR instead of live, local sports talk on the weekends, listen for yourself and you may understand. As for "Webby's" next show, he & John "Rock" Mamola are scheduled to hold court Saturday afternoon, according to a previous post, Saturday afternoon 4-8p(?) from the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place...

Yes!!

You win a (fictional) prize! I hate how PDs keep assigning shows to two or more hosts whose voices sound alike. I have had problems with Mac versus Jurko, and Silvy versus Waddle. If you pay close attention to phraseology, obviously, you can separate who's saying what. But, I like doing work while the radio's on :?

I think you may need to get your hearing checked.

Fans, according to the 670thescore.com schedule, "Webby's" got 2 more weekend shows on the horizon. He's scheduled to build a bridge to DePaul's likely 14th straight loss Saturday night at #4 Pittsburgh between 1-5:45p Saturday. "Webby" & John "Rock" Mamola are scheduled to hold court again Sunday 4-8p following Westwood One/NCAA Radio Network's coverage of Wisconsin @ #6 Michigan State college hoops. Thought you'd want to know...

Fans, Matt Weber continues to get airtime as a host on "The SCORE", and this time, you've got 3 chances to hear "Webby" either solo or with John "Rock" Mamola. Tonight, "Webby" & "Rock" wrap up 670 AM's marathon broadcast from Tommy Nevin's in Naperville from 9p-Midnight, presented by Miller Lite. "Webby" builds a bridge tomorrow to DePaul/Pittsburgh NCAA hoops 1-5:45p, and then he & "Rock" are back on following more college basketball action come 4-8p Sunday. Thought you'd want to know... 8)

Just like on the basketball court, he's got a big motor...grindy...

He did slow his pattern today and I thought he did rather well. Completely disagreed with him, though...wish I'd expressed myself a little better. He let me talk without interuption, which was cool of him. I do wish he'd let me follow up, but I know he had quite a few callers...
