I never listen to this show and for some reason I happened upon this "show" today. I just remembered why I don't listen.. Murph: I think Dennis Rodman would make a fantastic coach... |

Ivan, I thought the exact same thing and was going to post something before I saw this thread. The whole bit was lame to begin with. Do some of these hosts come up with these segments to kill time? |

Haven't heard Murph in years but today BB played a drop where he said something to the degree of, "Tucson used to be nice, now it's a border war going on down their". Huh? Murph interviews the Governor one day and now he's Lou Dobbs. |

He also said he thinks Carlos Quentin should hit leadoff for the Sox. |

FUck that, you need speed at the top of the lineup. AJ leading off, Konerko #2 |

This is hilarious because I have actually dealt with Murph when he comes up with these great nuggets. I didn't hear the show today or ever since I've been gone but I can only imagine. It is hell because you want to tell him how dumb he is but unfortunately you really can't. Here is what he does, he finds some obscure soundbite that might relate to his crappy thoughts. He will listen to it for a couple of times and then tell you what his Big Topic is. Whispering because he is afraid someone might steal his Great Idea. The whole time you are just wishing this creepy man would leave you alone, but unfortunately he doesn't. The whole time he uses idiot logic to try and prove his point that Quinton should bat leadoff or whatever garbage he thinks up to cover for his complete lack of sports knowledge. So you try to tell him why he is stupid but unfortunately Murph just gets pissed and says well its good we got 50/50 on the topic. The worst and I mean the worst is when you just are like no this is dumb and Murph pulls out his trump card. He would call in Mitch and tell him his great idea. You are done because no matter how bad it is, Mitch will tell him how great the idea is. I might be wrong but I know that Mitch would hate it too unfortunately he would never tell Murph that. Just by reading the posts on here on Rodman and Quinton, I can only imagine how dumb Murph sounded today. The sad thing is he thinks it's his cleverness that he is displaying for the whole world. Murph is just so damn clever compared to the rest of us. |

Murph is what he is. You take the good with the bad...(insert one liner here). I don't know of another local radio host that has so many listeners that hate him and his show, yet still listen to him and his show. Murph is just alright with me. |

I'll listen to any idiot that talks baseball. Which is why I'm so excited for Hit and Run sunday morning. I get two idiots for the price of one. |

Well, you'll hear no more complaints from me because I'm pretty sure that one statement was all I can handle from him for a lifetime. He's going back on the Pay No Mind list. |

That wasn't necessarily directed at you, Ivan. I understand your position. Murph is what he is. I like his show, but rarely post about it. |

Murph is worth a listen during baseball season, but I'm a Cubs fan. Other than that, no thanks. Every once in a while he does have a good idea relating to baseball lineups... |

He's right from the 50/50 perspective. If he can get a loaded phone bank with several callers arguing the point, hooray. And another one for Tool of the Week. This ain't sports fact radio -- people don't call in for that. On the other hand, noticed that Murph invited Norm Van Lier on the day after the Red presentation, but he decided to visit Dan & Terry instead. Timing or something else? |

He has on some very interesting guests but ruins it by cuting them off and taking the conversation where he wants it to go. He had on Jim Callis yesterday (Baseball America) and I was very interested to here what HE had to say but Murph kept asking him what he thought about his lineup ideas. He's an expert on prospects in both organizations but they barely had time to talk about them because Murph was too busy trying to convince him why Ramirez should hit third for the cubs and Quentin should hit first for the Sox. Why the fuck does Jim Callis care about the cubs and Sox lineups?? |

B&B simply had the thought to call him before Murph did... |
