Why is he leaving the Score? Just heard him on with the Ranger, and they were saying their good-byes, then Jesse said he has one last Hit and Run show tomorrow. Who will be replacing him as the Score beat reporter? Heard Ranger say Double Z, but then Jesse asked if that was right, and Ranger said well who else would do it.

Maybe Jesse is taking over the Cubs pre game job on WGN. Provost left and they were looking to fill it. In fact, I'm sure that's what it is.

Good for Jesse. That's probably an extra 15 grand per year for him. He probably goes from 55k to 70k.

If this is true it means that Jesse will be doing 1 inning of play by play with Ron Santo every game. That will be priceless.

Jesse said good-bye to the Score today as he did his last broadcast on "Hit and Run". He didn't say what is next job would be, only that it was in media. He said it will be announced shortly. I'm sure it's the Cubs pre game radio job.

At the end George Offman told Jesse he loves him.

Zack Zaidman will be replacing Jesse on "Hit and Run". I'm sure Zack will become the Score's baseball reporter as well. Zack sucks and I don't think he knows baseball. They should have let Paruch replace Jesse on the "Hit and Run" show.

Could Jesse be joining his pappy?

As what? Pappy is splitting the profits with Comcast. Why would he want to take on more payroll? What could Jesse do for that show that would make more people watch anyway?

Breaking news from White Sox camp. Shots fired. Ozzie Guillen calls out Chris Getz. What could...this...mean...for...the Bears?

Agree. Zach isn't a baseball guy. He should be dusted off only during football season, just like Doug and Hub, and hopefully Hampton soon.

Perhaps Jesse's free accommodations at the luxurious Biltmore out in Phoenix weren't to his liking.

Sounds like a plan to me.

How come when this station dumps dead wood, we seldom get anything better in return? Well, except for M&H in place of North, of course. Anything those guys do is better than North.

Looks like Jesse (Spider) Rodgers has stumbled, mumbled his way into a prime WGN gig!
Between Chuck Swirsky & Jesse, our town really has the market cornered on odd looking bald guys! Maybe the dude from "The hills have eyes" movies can get to be a SCORE anchor next!

Never figured the Jess-meister, with his mixed metaphors, mangled syntax, and inability to express a coherent thought, to be one to move up to the "big show" on WGN--if that's in fact where he's headed. Oh, well, I'm sure Mike North will claim to have had some part in Jesse's success story.

Post subject:  Re: Jesse Rodgers

If he keeps pounding out mixed metaphors and acts like a groaning homer, I think Jesse Rogers will be a perfect addition to the 720 team, actually. He seems like an affable guy who will really get into the rhythm of the season. I'd rather have them bring in Jesse, who is at least someone, to do Cubs coverage than some just-a-guy right out of broadcasting school.

Jesse: the cubs are scoring so many runs it's like watching paint dry.

Santo: I like to eat paint.

Jesse: The cubs season is like a snowball rolling up hill.

Santo: You're not supposed to eat yellow snow.

Jesse: Hey, if a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to see it because it's raining like dogs and cats . . .

Something tells me that Ronnie would eventually hit Jesse upside the head with one of his legs. Now that would be good radio.

Jesse is on CLTV's "Sports Page" right now.

I missed the intro so I don't know if they mentioned Jesse's new gig. Doubtful that Jesse let them or else he would have said it on the Score earlier today.

So maybe our new board member is right. Maybe Jesse is the Hawks new PR guy. As a reporter Jesse tried to see through the bullshit. Now he'll be dishing it.

Zach as the new co-host of hit and run wouldnt not have been my 1st, 2nd or 3rd choice, Zach knows football, but when he has talked baseball in the past, he seems to have limited knowledge. Drinky or Paruch should have got that job.

Post subject:  Re: Jesse Rodgers

If I can get my Beardown on for a minute, I wonder if Drinky is pissed about this. He gets passed up again for a chance to do something other than producing B&B and being a fill in host. Drinky may have to take a chance on WTJK, aka ESPN 1380 in Rockford, IL.

If I'm not mistaken, their studios are in Janesville. Drinky's not taking that chance.

How can you be a meatball and a Bernstein ripoff? Aren't the two diametrically opposed?

I'm not sure about Matt Abbatacola, RodeoVann, but Brian "the Whipping Boy" Paruch would be better suited than Zach Zaidman co-hosting "Hit & Run" w/George Ofman Sunday mornings. I think Brian & George are actually very passionate about baseball, while Zach seems better suited for Bears' football & occasional play-by-play...I can easily see Abbatacola being groomed to replace either Terry Boers and/or Dan Bernstein full time, let alone hosting his own show.
