He seems to have reinvented himself as "The Angry Guy". He's been calling for Daley's head for two hours. I must say, it's been entertaining though, and I've never cared for Garry solo. His wit is still there though. His description of Illinois as a clown car driven by Blago, and containing Roland Burris, Drew Peterson, and the people from the Buy Owner commercials (what IS up with those ads anyway?) had me cracking up. |

Almost forgot, in the middle of his rant a typical GN caller wanted to know what happened to "mr nice guy"? She said he should say something nice about the city. She told him to talk about the flowers. LOL. |

Due to the WSCR programmed train wreck known as Ed Farmer, I turned to WGN looking for some CUB and found the Angry Guy calling for Daley's head. He actually wasn't that angry, it was more of the laughing at what a joke and how terrible the kick backs, scandals, etc are. He was more lively than I ever heard the guy and all I could think of is how fake this guy is right now. Like nobody has heard him before? |

Obviously you're not a Garry fan, but he's improved markedly in recent years as a solo. I think his stint at WLS opened his eyes a little in terms of what people are looking for for amusement...topical but not overly serious. I for one, would like to hear him back on the airwaves, even if it means programming 720 back into the rotation.

Like nobody has heard him before? Right Zippy. I found him highly entertaining. He sounded like he's been chomping at the bit to get back on the air. His WLS solo work consisted of reading stories out of the paper, and taking call after call. Yesterday he brought a lot of thought and opinion to the show, along with his great quick wit and humor. I'll definitely be listening today. |

Bernsie filled in for the Dan Patrick show---he's definitely improved to a viable stand- alone host on the network level. Garry Meier started out shaky with bad stand-up material then eased in slowly. He's not used to being solo, but could still grow into a smoother host. There are better options. Brandmeier could be up for this too. |

Bernsie solo on a National show is a much better listen. He tones down the condescending quite a bit. |
