Good luck Webby, hope it works out

Big mistake, Webber. You should have stuck with the Score. You joined North. We warned you against this. You were starting to get air time at the Score. Now you have to quit your producers job so they won't want you to do shows on the weekends. This web thing can't work.

Explain yourself, Webber.

leaving this shitty show--good
going to north web show--stupid

does north have some zen like control over webber and jen jen?
no they are just idiots

hey webby, come on and tell us how much you are getting paid for this gig or did master mikey put a gag order on you

I can't believe you let North sucker you into this. Webber, you really don't have an appeal to draw web listeners yet. Nobody knows who the hell you are. You should have stayed at the Score. Be a producer with part time hosting and hope for a full time gig in a couple of years. Larry and Hamp are gonna be gone soon. This web thing is gonna crash and burn quick. Hell, you had to be making more than what Pappy is giving you. I assume you had health benefits at the Score as well. No way in hell Webio-Pappy can offer you that.

Well, since Larry is the competition for you now, do you want to tell us what you really think of him? You thought the "Larry and Hamp Show" sucked. You can admit it now.

just remember, webby knows more about sports than us pikers. under north's wing this kid will soar......or crash land at best buy. "would you like do get the 2 yr extended protection plan with your i-pod?"

Gee, you're being generous. I would have thought, "Do you want to Super Size your combo meal?" would have been a more accurate picture of his future after signing on with North.

Mitch Rosen didn't seem too scared of the new venture. Do they put non-competition clauses into underling's contracts? If Ron Artest could work the floor at Best Buy while with the Bulls, could Webby have kept both gigs?

It's kind of impossible to do both. Webber's web show is from 9-11. Larry and Hamp is 10-12.

I wonder if this story broke before Webber told Mitch he was quiting. I wonder if he was still thinking about it.

Maybe Webber was making less than we thought. Rock said he made less than 30k doing the 4 hour Mike North show. Webber is only working on a 2 hour show. It would stand to reason that the money would be less.

Actually, if you figure Webber had to come in an hour early for show prep, 30k for 3 hour work days isn't that bad. That's 15 hours a week.

Well, when I say "we" I meant based on what Rock told all of us.

North stresses the employees at ChicagoSportsWebio.com will enjoy the same benefits of full-time employees at other workplaces, and they'll also have a stake in the station's success.

"Everybody who works for ChicagoSportsWebio.com is getting full health benefits and life insurance," North said. "And each person will have a sales packet given to him.

"If they sell ChicagoSportsWebio.com to somebody, they get 15 percent. If I sell $100,000 worth of advertising, I get $15 grand. If [WSCR] did this, I'd still probably be there."

Hey Webber, did North give you your sales packet yet? Are you and Teddy gonna sell as a team? Try and get escort (hooker) services. There is no FCC regulations. No company standards. North doesn't care what sponsor he gets. He just wants his 85%. I'm sure all you care about is your 15%. Did they teach you how to be a used car salesman at ICB?

At the end of the day, it's exposure for Webby. The kid is young and even if this turns tits up in 6 months, he'll be able to turn up somewhere.

For some reason, I keep picturing these teams of North webio guys going out and trying to sell ad time like Chris Farley and David Spade trying to sell auto parts in "Tommy Boy."

I appreciate everyone's concern with my career decision. As you know I've decided to take a hosting position at the new chicagosportswebio.com. Just to clear up some of your speculation: I was offered a lot more money then I was making at The Score to leave. No, I don't have to sell any advertising. If I chose to bring in any outside advertising I would get a 15% cut. An analogy I've been using to justify my decision is this: It's similar to an assistant college basketball coach. I could continue to be a part-time producer for the next 3-5-10 yrs and possibly get my own show when the current (Head Coach) retires, or I can leave for my own Head Coaching job at a smaller school and work my way up that way. Hopefully it all works out. Thanks for your support. I'll talk to you soon.

Glad you came on to talk about it Webby.

Actually, in my opinion, I'll think you'll need us now more than ever. The best place to get an audience on the internet is from folks who patrol the internet all day.

I honestly believe he took the new gig just so he didnt have to listen to LoHo and Hampton anymore. Best of luck its a brave new world out there. Radio on the Interweb who would have thought?

This just in. Video of North recruiting Weber.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4uC4UcfiTg

Weber tried to resist. Unlike Luke, Weber caved into Lord Pappy. Hey, at least he gets to be with Princess Jen Jen. Wait, that would make her his twin sister. So what? Together they can destroy Lord Pappy and take over Webio. They will save the sports talk galaxy!! I get it now. You're our only hope, Webwalker.

So you guys do get a base salary at Webio? That's good. You were considered a "part-timer producer" at the Score? I thought it was different cuz you were only working a 2-hour show. What does "a lot more money than I was making at The Score" mean? 40K?

Cash those checks as soon as you get them. One day they won't clear. You might as well try to sell some spots. Seriously, give us your rates.
