Boers was hinting that George Offman and his comedy vault were leaving. Did I miss something? I really dont care much that he is gone, I was not a BigFan.

That's news to me if what Boers is saying is true...I wonder if George Ofman will soon become the "SCORE's" baseball reporter again... :?

Mike North announced Thursday that his new ChicagoSportsWebio.com Internet sports-talk radio venture will launch April 6 and that its backers expect it to be profitable in the first year.

In addition to the weekday lineup revealed earlier this week - starting with a simulcast of North and Dan Jiggetts' "Monsters in the Morning" TV show on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, followed by hosts Jonathan Hood and Chet Coppock, but not Teddy Greenstein, as previously reported - North announced Thursday that George Ofman will leave WSCR 670-AM to be a field reporter with the new Internet station, and Ron Kittle will be the baseball analyst, along with Doug Glanville, whose deal is still being finalized.

Greenstein suddenly got the kibosh Thursday from his editors at the Chicago Tribune, after they had originally given him the OK; North and Program Director Jesse Rogers will look for a replacement host.

"My editors felt that the time commitment required to prepare for and do a 10-hour-a-week show would be too great," Greenstein said.

David Hernandez will run the station as part of his Spectrum Entertainment Group from studios in Morton Grove. Despite the huge outlay to sign talent for the venture, Hernandez insists the station will soon make money.

"Knowing the dynamics of how the Score evolved," he said, the Internet venture will make "a profit in the first year."

Stating that the station has "a better startup than we had at the Score," North added, "The model we put together here is a no-brainer."

Some skeptics in the media, especially the broadcast sports-talk-radio competition, will read that differently from others.

The April 6 premiere was planned to take advantage of baseball's Opening Day, the NCAA Finals and the Masters golf tournament.

Does that leave Murph as the only SCORE original?

Not quite, Good Dolphin...Brian Hanley & Terry Boers have been with "The SCORE" since they were at that place they shared with 93XRT in 1992 on Belmont Ave. along with "Murph", as far as I know.

Do they consider Hanley an original? At one of the anniversary parties they raised the jersies of SCORE originals who were still at the station and Hanley was not one of them. He really has only been a full time employee for about a year.

IIRC Boers wasn't a day one starter. There may have been a brief Mac & Hanley pairing from jump, with Boers coming in fairly quickly thereafter.

technically Terry's not a day one original. But apparently they think so.

Hanley, Boers and Telander were like temporary guys who rotated with Mac and had a weekend show. But I think Boers signed on within the first month as a full-timer.

Telander trying to be edgy and telling gladiator movie jokes... As bad as it reads...

Moment of silence please for Rick Telander's afternoon show...Thank you.

I don't think that show should rest in peace.

On another note, I'm likely the only one, but I'll miss George. I can't understand his or Webby's move, unless the glass ceiling was the problem...

I wonder if that was the problem for Ofman & Weber...By the way, CoF, late word today that "The Mayor", ex-CLTVer Mike Bloomberg, is now a goner from "The SCORE". His profile & picture have been removed from 670thescore.com...

In "Bloomy's" case as "SCORE" guys referred to Bloomberg, you're absolutely right.

Heh, Goose...

Ofman and Heubner had the same problem: lots of seniority as update guys. Heubner had it worse, being a co-host for Murph's morning show as well as North's. Who wants to pay host salaries for update guys/who wants to do updates when you were cohosting for a few years?

So, yeah, Murph's the remaining on-air original, with Terry being a virtual day-one.

Shark: was referring to Telanders days when the Score started, not the later abortion of an afternoon show. Geez, the only one coming out the latter well was Mully.

I thought that was the whipping boy?

Bloomberg's best moment was getting pissed off at Drinky for playing music during one of his updates.

I think Mike Murphy is out the door. Supposedly he's quietly telling people he wants to spend more time on his business. Sounds like he's trying to save face.
