Chicago, IL (March 23, 2009) - Beginning Wednesday, April 1, Comcast SportsNet's Monsters in the Morning presented by NextStep Medical Staffing, will begin airing a one-hour, Monday-Friday encore show (11:00 PM to 12:00 AM), featuring the very best interviews and hottest sports topic discussions from that day's 6:00-9:00 AM live morning airing.

Featuring two of the most popular personalities in Chicago sports media history, Monsters in the Morning stars Mike North, two-time Emmy winner and one of the most colorful and outspoken individuals to ever grace the Chicago airwaves and Dan Jiggetts, former Chicago Bears standout with a 25-year career in local/national sports broadcasting. The "Monsters" are also joined each day by sports/weather/traffic update anchor Jen Patterson.

"By providing a Monday through Friday encore edition of the Monsters to our viewers, we will now be able to give those viewers who normally don't get a chance to watch the live morning edition an opportunity to see the show in a later time slot, plus - it also gives die-hard Monsters fans a chance to watch the very best moments from that morning's show a second time around," said Greg Bowman, Senior Director of Programming for Comcast SportsNet Chicago.

North added: "For those viewers checking us out for the first time for the new 11:00 PM to midnight encore airing of the Monsters, it's our goal to get them waking up six hours later to catch the entire, three-hour, live 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM edition of our show every weekday morning on Comcast SportsNet."

In addition to lively sports talk discussion and top-tier live special guests from the local/national media, entertainment industry, along with a vast array of players, coaches and front executives from Chicago's professional, collegiate and preps ranks, Monsters in the Morning fans can listen online for a LIVE (6:00-9:00 AM) audio stream available on Comcast SportsNet's new, enhanced website by visiting CSNChicago.com/pages/monstersinthemorning. Also, following every live show, an archived audiocast will also be available online for viewer convenience 24/7.

Make the producer talk. A "Finji's Island," if you will...

Which begs the question, who has to listen to 3 hours to pick out the "passable stuff"?

They had a new intern today because the others are on vacation. Her name was Megan. She was cute, but she's no CyCy.

Sounds like they will be giving the advertisers a make up for the lack of viewers during the day. I guess it beats refunding money to the few advertisers they have.
