Who is that? Captain stutters who's paired up with Hood? After only a few minutes of listening it HAS to be Boom Boom. Worst I've ever heard and that includes Schaer, Bear & Bull, and Murph.

Does anybody think this group of washed up nobodies appeal to any demographic besides the fucking bed ridden?

If your major demographic is say 18-35 year old men, who on this fucking rag tag group of shit would someone in that age bracket actually stop what they are doing, and run to their computer?

Cup- Somebodys getting robbed..........

When they get real advertisers, then I might believe it will survive.

Perhaps this is why Chet is here - that guy has more connections than anybody in town - and he should be able to bring real advertisers- like Budweiser, Coke, heck even The Gale Street Inn.

That's what is the big failure on North's part - he has not bee able to convince the local Bud ( or Miller, or Coors) distributor in town to spend a few bucks on the Comcast show. If it did any real ratings, a beer manufacturer would be there in a heart beat.

Who on this board? Those who want to sample the fare. Not necessarily repeat listeners... But there are people on this board who have pushed for Hood for different slots in the past.

So, since the 18-35s are the ones likelier to listen to webcast, what would you do? Boom boom's an odd offering with a short life. Would you punt Chet? Would you find different partners, more to your liking, for the other shows?

Personally, I'd put up something more appealing than Chet for the afternoon slot, under the logic that B&B is unlistenable to some, and CJH is unlistenable to many

I would think that Hood and Doyle are producing the most hits because they fall right into the 18-35 crowd.

Hood + Doyle is a great pairing and I've been meaning to check it out. Couldn't care less for the rest of it, though.

Something that's probably already been discussed but just occurred to me - wonder how long this idea's been brewing for Mike North? They get a feed of MitM for the site, and that had to have been written into the contract somewhere. Does Comcast (local) have a stake in this at all?

Honestly? I punt each and every one of these idiots, including the closet retard North, and get relative unknowns, young, energetic kids who wouldnt cost too much, and relate to those that these idiots are trying to capture.

The internets a young mans game, and I, as someone who falls into the 18-35 demo, would rather listen to sports talk from somebody who was my peer and could relate to, discussing things that are relivant to something from my age brackets, such as MMA, NHL, shit, even WWE besides the major sports, than some older than dust blowhard who has no clue what audience hes trying to reach, or who only wants to hear himself blab on about shit that doesnt even matter.Hell, this board is far more entertaining than anything North, Crappock, etc, have done in YEARS! Fucking decades for a few.And half the time, if you listen close, some things that were posted here have been regashed on certain shows, but this board is irrelivant, yeah, like my fucking dick inside a drippingly wet mexican puss.

Hey Nort, you can wear as many affliction shirts as you want, and have some herpe infested waitress following you around, but the fact is, your nothing once the score got wise to your shit. You suck like a girl giving her first blowjob with a cold sore.

Cup- I think Iam on to something.

So what you're saying is, you want the "wrestlemaniacs" of Hood and Holmes. I don't recall that combo given much more than late-evening shots, but okay...

So you got one show. You got Webby whose young, but damn, is talking traditional sports. Disqualify? Finfer, Drinky, Goff all have the same predisposition; no doubt from working traditional sport-talkers, where that's what they service.

Maybe you just want to grab guys right out of broadcast school. That's risky, given that you want somebody with name appeal to draw in listeners. Less risky as a second wave of talent, but as the initial roster...

That explains Chet; that also explains 'Monsters' (being a simulcast one presumes less expense.) I can't explain Mancini to you.

Hey, I'm just a guy who enjoys sports & being humbled by my fellow man.
I've taken my shots on this board, but I try to give as good as I get.
My sense of humor is twisted and warped but I am not a MULT!
I'm sure all your previous posts are "roykoesque" and you reign supreme with your wit and knowledge, but I doubt it!

It's looking like Boom Boom may be the first to head out the door:

Big boo-boo for Boom Boom

Posted by Ed Sherman
at 4/15/2009 5:26 AM CDT on Chicago Business

Since I've been out of town, I haven't had a chance to listen much to the new chicagosportswebio.com. However, in three minutes Tuesday afternoon, I heard Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini make an all-time blunder on the show he does with Chet Coppock.

Mr. Coppock was trying to engage Mr. Mancini in a discussion about the Bulls. Mr. Coppock did his spiel and then threw it over to Mr. Mancini.

The former boxing champion talking about Derrick Rose and then said something to the effect that he liked the Bulls' inside game with Ben Wallace in the middle.

Oh my God.

You almost could hear Mr. Coppock throw the papers across the room. He quickly asked Mr. Mancini if he really said Ben Wallace still plays for the Bulls.

Mr. Mancini realized his mistake and said something to the effect that Mr. Wallace had been traded to Cleveland and started talking about Brad Miller. He tried to cover up his gaffe by laughing about it.

However, it was clear that Mr. Coppock wasn't laughing about this one. He knows how important credibility is in this business. Mr. Mancini's already was in question as it relates to Chicago. He isn't from here and is doing the show from his home in Los Angeles. Not a great combination to be a personality on a Chicago sports radio station.

Mr. Coppock knows he has a difficult challenge in working with somebody as rough as Mr. Mancini. At the end of last week, he said, "Boom Boom...I think I've aged 15 years in the last 5 days."

You can bet Mr. Coppock aged a few more years Tuesday.

I didn't even know the site was up and running until I saw this. I love Coppock, he's reason enough to tune in, even with Mancini's rantings.

Unfortunately, the site doesn't have the marketing punch behind it as ESPN.

3 things to like about the ESPNChicago.com site:

Not only that, but he called him Kirk "Hendrick"....and yes, Coppock did sound pissed off....If anyone cares to listen, I was able to pinpoint it to around the 19:00 part of the first hour of yesterday's show.

At least he got the first name right. Vinny has been calling him Kurt all year.
