He was on plugging his book. It was actually a pretty decent 20-30 minutes. North didn't come off like his usual ass clown self, and actually deferred to Meier most of the time. I was glad he corrected the sports ignorant Garry about the breaking up of the Bulls. Earlier Garry was bitching how they had 2 or 3 more title runs in them! Did he even watch the '98 finals? Anyway it wasn't bad. Of course Mikey is trying to sell a book, which is probably why he toned it down a bit. |

Did you notice the MITM gift bags now have both Mike & Dan's books in them? I probably have more interesting reading in my glove compartment! |

pappy is on his last leg. he has literally blown his load (and jen-jen gargled) with comcast, webio, book, and when all these outlets fail ( yes, spada will have to find another schmuck to stroke his wang) north will have nowhere to turn. |

Deacon, You are correct, sir. Everything you said is accurate and hopefully, the end will come soon. He'll be on all the stations this week pushing the lame ass book, the one VERY few will buy, and after that it's back to being Mr. Irrelevant, the one very few watch, listen to and read. |

Score is doomed wrote: He'll be on all the stations this week pushing the lame ass book This was one part of the interview that Pappy was his old self. He told Meier at the beginning of the interview that "they asked me what radio shows I wanted to be on" and he told them he only wanted to be on shows with people he respected, Garry Meier and Roe Conn. I think he left out the part that there's probably a verrrrry limited number of media outlets that would even choose to have him on. He was really toned down. He even used the term "African-American" which I didn't even know was part of his vocabulary. He had hat-in-hand today. |

It was actually weird hearing his voice on the radio this afternoon - not that I'm a huge North fan but I would listen frequently to him in the morning and I really started listening to sports radio when an uncle turned me on to the "Wise Guys." It's after listening to that afternoon program that I developed my 'relationship' with sports radio. I quickly learned that there other, better shows and even another station up the dial. Now being in sales and in the car from 8-5 everyday, and having not heard his voice in such a long time via the radio, it just caught me off guard. Then after the interview I thought, He did not sound like a raging prick, and sort of thought about possibly buying the book to read what he has to say. |

I'm sure you will have to act fast as it will be on the New York Times Best Seller list soon. Wonder what studio will produce the movie? |

when he was on chicago tonight (which is a PBS channel 11 news show) he always sounded pretty professional. I always wondered why he just couldn't act that way on his radio program. |

I'm holding out for the audio CD version of the book as read by Mike North. "It was den dat I knew dat I had bamboozled dese guys. Dey really taught dat i was wert a million bucks a year. Dat night me an Knuckles, an Fritzy all went over ta Gibson's to sellabrate. We had dis cute skirt name of Jen as our waitress. I don know what, but sumptin told me dat dis broad had a future in da bidness. Da rest is histery." |

I dont know what you guys have aginst North. He was the most entertaining host on the Score, and he did more to put the Score on the map and give it some national prominence than anyone else. I would much rather listen to him than some big voiced talking head goof from annother city who sounds like a radio DJ like most of the clowns on TV & Radio. Guys like North will always be in demand and will always have job offers. He will never be out of work. John A7X wrote: He was on plugging his book. It was actually a pretty decent 20-30 minutes. Meatball Fan wrote: All the hoodlums on this board are just jealous of the great success that Mike North has had over the years. He is a self made man who came from nothing and made millions of dollars. He has proven that he has the fire and the passion to be the greatest radio voice of this generation. When he finally retires, thousands of statues all across Rosemont, Park Ridge, Niles, and Skokie will be built in his honor. This book is just the first chapter of his life. Part two will be about how he took over the national airwaves and become in the number one voice in the world. Atta Boy! I second that! He just needs to switch Jen with that Kustock broad. At least she seems to know sports and not learning as she goes like The Gibson's waitress. |

And you still don't know? Which is it? Do we make fun of him too much, or not enough to let you know what we don't like about him? Do you need further explanation? If so, I suggest you pour yourself a tall drink, sit back, relax, and read all the prior North threads out there. (Even if you don't agree with them, some of them are pretty damn funny, if I do say so myself.) |

IkeSouth wrote: mike north is a hero. i want to put jenjens feet in my ears Actually, would that it were so that Mike North would be 'an hero'. (actually, I don't really have anything against the guy ... he's just a big goof but is doing reasonably well because of / in spite of it ... but he's like anyone else in that some people just don't like him for whatever reason, legit or not) |
