I vowed never to listen to Holmes again, and have kept my word, but today, as 10:00 came, I was in the middle of something on the computer, and didn't immediately change the station when M&H ended. Shame on me.

His big topic for the day is "Why are casual fans so eager to jump on the Hawks' bandwagon now?" Wow, that's compelling and rich. He goes on to say he's really been thinking about this and the two ideas he came up with are that they're winning and they're exciting. NO SHIT!!! COULD THOSE REALLY BE THE REASONS??!! GOD, HOLMES, YOU ARE A DEEP THINKER!!! I picture him sitting there with his chin on his hand like the sculpture, "The Thinker," as he mulls over why the Hawks are more popular now. (In my vision, he's wearing a Red Wings jersey to help all the delusional Hawks' fans who think they can win this series "find themselves.") Of course, he said there are probably many other reasons, so it will be fun to hear what we think. WTF is this? High school radio? Why the Hawks have more fans now is a "fun" and "interesting" topic? The home TV and the marketing paved the way and the on-ice success sealed the deal. This has been known and understood by anyone with half a brain for a long time now. There, topic over. Move on. We get it.

At least, I thank him for one thing. He forced me to get up and turn the radio off.
