So the Chicago Blackhawks have had this huge resurgence and is once again very popular in Chicago. One would assume and expect that local sports radio stations would have someone on the road with the team, right? Wrong...here is the breakdown:

WSCR AM670, 0 reporters or show hosts in Detroit.
ESPN AM1000, 1 reporter in Detroit.
Chicago Sports Webio, 5 show hosts in Detroit broadcasting their shows from 11 - 3 today from the team Hotel.

The Score should be ashamed of themselves.

Yep, J-Hood and Tim Doyle will be broadcasting their show Monday and Tuesday from the MGM Grand in Detroit (the Blackhawks team hotel). We've had Troy Brouwer and Troy Murray so far, Chris Chelios comes up at 2:00pm, with more "surprises along the way..."

Additionally George Ofman is at today's practice and is reporting that Martin Havlat entered the building with a significant limp, and is uncertain for Game 2.

I can't say I'm surprised that The SCORE has nobody in Detroit, not even one of those stringers...I'm reasonably sure that David Schuster, if he's not at U.S. Cellular Field trying to stay awake for Pirates/White Sox Friday, will be covering the tabs at United Center for Red Wings/Blackhawks' Game 3.

I do give a rat's ass about the Hawks, but I fail to see how a Score show from the hotel could enhance my Hawks-following experience. Most of these road shows are a complete waste of time. As far as having a reporter there, no big deal either. So Schuster would stick a microphone in Toew's face and he'd say something profound like, "Well, we have to play better Tuesday." Of course, maybe Joe Theisman would stop by and tell me to have my prostate examined--oh, no, wait, that's Super Bowl week.

Schuster sounds like he wants to have his prostate examined...on a weekly basis!
