Ozzie Guillen Jr., the 21-year-old son of the world champion White Sox manager, is getting his own weekly show on sports/talk WSCR-AM (670).

But unlike all the other programming on the CBS Radio station, Guillen's show will be almost entirely in Spanish.

Starting Jan. 15, "El Beisbol Latino de Hoy Al Estile de Chicago" ("Latino Baseball Today, Chicago Style") will air live at 10 p.m. Sundays on the Score. Guillen, a student at Columbia College, will be joined by longtime sportscaster Hector Molina as co-host.

In addition to occasional interviews with his father, Guillen will feature top Latino players and executives throughout baseball.

The show was conceived by Mitch Rosen, the Score's program director, who has been close to the Guillen family since his days at Paragon Marketing Group when he served as the senior Guillen's agent.

"Ozzie Jr. is a charismatic guy who loves to talk baseball and has great contacts within the Latino baseball community," Rosen said.

"With the growing Hispanic population in Chicagoland, we feel a show like this will give the community an outlet to talk Chicago baseball, and about the world champion White Sox."

I wonder if North will have a rant about a Spanish language show being on the station.

When talking about the vacant Sox play-by-job this morning, North sarcastically chimed in with "maybe they'll just give it to Ozzie's kid". What's the matter Mikey? Are you mad that a "foreigner" got a job and not one of your scumbag, goomba buddies? There goes da station, right?

I think this is a pretty good idea, but this has gotta piss off all the other Columbia College students interning at SCR, as well as other stations. Because while they're getting coffee, answering calls, and changing TB's poo poo stained underpants, Ozzie Jr gets to be on the air simply because of who he's related to and who he knows.

Although, I suppose Jr's experience as the interpreter during nationally televised press conferences gives him a little bit more experience and an "edge" over the rest of the interns.

Maybe if those interns gave Mike North a bj they'd get somewhere faster.

10PM Sundays in the summertime.

That's a good time to never listen to the radio.
