That's great, but who's going to break the news to Boom Boom Mancini that Al Secord is no longer on the Hawks?

And would have reached more listeners if they would have just screamed the news out the studio window.

You just gave away North's next gig. After he has failed at radio, TV, audio recordings, webio, and the printed word, he'll be shouting sports thoughts out the windows of Pappyland to anyone who'll listen.

I certainly wouldn't call anyone who made $1.5 million for 4 or 5 years a failure.
If North is a failure, what are you???

Without Mike North, there is no WSCR.

Some people have selective memory...

He was successful at one thing--he bamboozled Score management into giving him some big bucks and the freedom to be the big shooter in their lineup with non-sports talk in the morning and all this other great wisdom that he thought he could impart to us. Wisdom that he thought we would eat up and then he'd be the next Don Imus or something. Almost from Day One, the morning show--and everything thereafter--has failed. If success is judged only by the dollar figure on one's earnings, then, yes, Mike North is certainly more successful than I and I have no problem with that. That still doesn't stop me from criticizing his ventures on a message board where we--the consumers of North's, or anyone else's products out there--are supposed to voice our opinions. Since he took over mornings and, in my worthless opinion, ruined the Score, what has he done to make anyone think he's a success in his profession?

When did the chicagosportswebio.com start advertising on the CSFMB home site?

I wonder what JohnKirk gets paid to boost Mike North / CSW.com on this site. <$10/hour?

You're a moron. Does north employ you to try to promote him?

he's nothing more than a loud mouthed clown.
He turned down 800k because he wanted a mil, they said "Good-bye, don't let the door hit you where the good Lord split ya" and NO other station wanted him either. He's a fool who got lucky.

  Did the score go off the air or something? I will say this, webby and freddy is a solid show, very solid, but the rest, you can have it. I like Hood, but he his partner really drags the show down.

IS this webio thing still on? I hear ZERO talk about it at work or at the taverns unlike the the other stations. I'm sure the fifty or so listeners may disagree with me. Does that morning TV show still exist?

[quote="JAWS"]

It's been a year. WSCR is fine, and probably in substantially better financial shape then they would have been had they paid North what they were offering. All the same people still advertise on the Score. The numbers are still similar. North didn't take any of their business. WSCR will still be there long after North's current venture (and probably his next two) have failed.

WSCR never would have got off the ground and become successful without North.
He singlehandedly made the Score a success. Those of you who were around in 1992-1993 know what I'm taking about and remember the pub that North got for the Score.
As for WSCR today, it is far from fine.

North made The Score a true Voice of the Fan when he tore Mike McCaskey apart in an interview one morning in what seems like it was 40 years ago.

Then Mike evolved into some yahoo Big Timing Chicago "Celebrity" and sold the fans out totally.
North's blatant ass kissing of Jerry Reinsdorf comes to mind.

North helped establish WSCR and then he became a reason for the decline of WSCR.

Maybe they ought to have 24 hours of Mike North?
12 live...12 replay.

JohnKirk is a fraud and whoever is posting as him is only doing so to try and go against the grain of every "right" thinking sane person participating on this board. From the movie Stripes..."You just made the list" (ignore)

Come on, now. That's just ridiculous. Give him the lion's share of credit if you want, but single-handedly is untrue and you know it. You could make a more compelling argument that North saved the Score by not signing that deal in 2008.
