They just changed it today so they could have removed his picture and bio if he was gone. This probably means he still has a role. It now just says "host" for Murph, Larry and Hamp.

I imagine you're right. He never said today he was going anywhere, just the "big wheel keep on turnin'". Which is okay; if things are in the works, why spike them?

Murph has a contract - either they use him or they don't; either way they have to pay him. If he refuses a shift, he's probably out the money ( it was that way with Memolo).

So - knowing Murph - he is keeping his mouth shut, do shifts when they come in, and start talking to anyone in the business to see if he can land before the contract ends. Even if he doesn't, he'll be about 58 at the end( a guess) - and have collected two checks for almost 20 plus years (don't forget WLS), he will be fine to ride off in the sunset - or into the bleachers.

Don't forget that Brown;s Chicken, Jack Phelan and a few others were advertisers he brought in due to life long friendships - I know the VP of marketing (at least he was ) at Brown's was Murphy's college roommate - and advertised on WLS Fan talk because of the relationship with Murph. He could easily carry some of those advertisers to the webbio group.

Not with webio bouncing checks left and right. That's a horrible situation. Air America, Chicago sports style.....

Unfortunately for Murph, he could have been ok for Hit and Run, but they brought Rosenbloom back.

Put Murphy back on at night.
The guy is great when the games are just ended or in progress.

I think that was the plan, Aggravated, on nights like tonight where there is no White Sox game...Instead, after Terry & Dan B. wrap up their show at 6p this eve, Laurence Holmes and the return of "The Me Show" build a 4 hour bridge to "The Dan Patrick Show" on tape delay. Something tells me I already know what Patrick will be talking about...

Bridges don't run from 6 to 10 at night. Holmes to Patrick; that's the Pontchartrain Causeway of mediocre radio.

According to the online schedule at 670thescore.com, tonight's the only night that LoHo builds a bridge to Dan Patrick, Curious. Naturally, D.P. be talking about Kobe Bryant, the new NBA Champion L.A. Lakers & why the Ron Jeremy-looking Stan Van Gundy appeared to get outcoached by Phil Jackson. There are remote broadcasts coinciding with the White Sox/Cubs' series at Wrigley Field tomorrow through Thursday, plus I noticed Jason Goff's got a couple of late night shifts near the end of the week, bumping D.P. back to about midnight or so...Hmmm...

Dan Mac just announced that Murph was offered some unnamed position and said that he turned it down. Murph just quit.

He was right to quit. He had a successful program and they took it away. Losing a show to Mac is one thing, but when Larry was handed the best available spot instead of Murph, you knew it was over for him.

quitting is fun. if you've never done it before I highly suggest it. though you might want to wait a year or two.
