For those who wonder how people could be amused by (no, not obsessed with) the demise of the Mike, this is a good place to begin. :)

This story is so incredibly funny/sad/depressing on many levels, I'm
having a hard time taking it all in. I guess bottom line is hopefully everyone
will learn from this, in hindsight, it all sounded to good to be true, as
it turned out to be.

North was like the first Buffalo to fall off the cliff, and they all followed.

Actually North did Chicago sports radio a favor, it sort of worked out
like a "radio cleansing", in that he, in a sense, disposed the local airwaves
of old has beens like Offman, Huebner, Rodgers, & Hood. Most of the guys
who jumped ship seemed to be disgruntled in their old positions and that
must make it that much harder for them. Too bad for Doug & OB? The more I think
of it, this story is just hilarious, Boom, Boom Mancini??? From California? WTF?
Enough said.

One more thing, everytime I read "Bebe North - Chief Financial Officer'
in any Sherman or Cox news story, I have to chuckle.

For me, not a chuckle, but a loud belly-laugh is more like it.

I'm with you. North on Roe Conn said all Hernandez told him was get the best talent and he'd back the station. So while Hernandez surely conned North, North conned (of a much lighter variety) him by instead just getting SCR and MVP rejects and has-beens.

The reason to be skeptical about this venture from the get-go was not just the industry or the limitless-investor-out-of-nowhere, but the fact that it was simply a bad product. Maybe so bad that it sped up the unraveling process of Hernandez since Mike's promised income was likely a crock too, to the point where Hernandez couldn't even buy more pianos with it.

Would help explain his Sox love ... over at Wrigley, they got rats bigger than pigs (or picks).
