"- David J. Hernandez, a former vice president of operations at Columbia National Bank in Chicago, pleaded guilty to embezzling $662,000 from investors, including relatives, a multiple sclerosis patient and a church.
Hernandez, 37, formerly of Chicago, admitted cheating his father-in-law, the Congregation of the Passion and an elderly couple in ill health whose son was himself undergoing chemotherapy treatments at the time and was unable to advise his parents.
The wife lost almost her entire life savings of $87,270."
