This is rich stuff.

Ed Sherman sounds like he has a gallon of saliva frothing in his mouth.

Is it just my cable or is the sound way off from the picture?

Also of note: Jesse says North is planning on starting up Webio again soon...and Big Head Ed is all for it (what a stammering shill).

I think Jesse and George came off alright tonight.

While I agree with their assessment that there's a market for a 'SportsWebio' type product, I don't think it can survive as was, with the hosts making the same amount of money and Shorty George traveling across the countryside as a beat reporter.

Best of luck to all involved though.

If Sherman is supposed to be a journalist, why is he making himself a part of the story? Is he not a journalist anymore?

I think all of these guys - everyone involved - are coming off as a bunch of egotistical morons.

Are bloggers bonafide 'journalists', or unemployed journalists trying to remain relevant?

These idiots were defending the North/Hernandez relationship being just a sporadic affair. They are buying North's current bullshit that Hernandez came after North to put up money. I guess we should refer them to the transcript of the first Monsters show that Phil Rosenthal reported.

"MIKE NORTH: We've known him a long, long time. He's been friends with us for about 16, 17 years. And, you know, when I started doing the Webio with Rich Melman, he took a liking to that. And then ... we had the TV thing, so I approached David. I said, "How'd you like to spend about 2-300 grand on something?" And David said: "You know what? It would be an honor." And you know what, here he is today. And we'd like to introduce the CEO of NextStep Medical Staffing, David Hernandez, a Cicero guy. What's up, David?"

Out of the three of them, Sherman came off as the only one with a brain.

Jesse, with his comments; is making sure he won't be hired any time soon in radio. "This is the right way to do it." No, it isn't. Sending a reporter to cover the hockey playoffs with nearly 2000 bucks in airfare is NOT the way to get a business moving forward. Also, God forbid he addressed the fact that North HAD HERNANDEZ AT HIS HOME YEARS AGO. Because if he did; North would either look like a liar or a glad-handing blowhard, or both.

George; for all his reporter insight, again didn't think it was odd that amount of money was being spent to cover a sport that gets maybe 20% of fans attention? I'm not knocking the Blackhawks, but they also weren't in the Finals. George knew it was wrong, and he knew it was wrong when it was happening; but once he duckwalked out the door at WSCR, he couldn't just go back.

To me, red flags were all over this. In a market that money is already tight, in an economy when people are afraid to risk large sums of money, you have a guy throwing money around like its water. You have guys who are in secure jobs; with 17 years under their belt; but with the promise of being a bigger "player" toss that aside and follow North off a cliff.

Again, I say how does North keep the Comcast gig now? Who exactly is financing it?

No shit, Sherlock. But it appears most of the ads running are from accounts Comcast already had. The NextStep money's not being diverted from investors any longer, and Notre Dame High School's not pumping that much money into this. So where's the money coming from?

Mr. Kirk

COMCAST had a show on TV in that time slot before Mike North created the revolutionary idea of paying for TV time. They have national accounts which they knew how much income they made on these ads before North arrived on the scene.

Those ads pay for the basic expenses and North is responsible for the costs over and above that. He would also get the income over and above that, if any existed. The problem for Mike is that the income is not greater than the expenses of Jen, Jiggs, Mike, Producer and additional graphics, etc.

I am sick and tired of these dumb asses who followed the lead of Mike North and their current state of victimization.
Everybody can be replaced.....
Rogers and Ofman quit jobs to follow the all knowing Norths into oblivion.
Nobody did any homework, including the on air bean counting George Ofman.
Here's a venture, George....Sportsphone.

Jesse can run with his ideas all he wants....his wife is a damned lawyer....are all these people under the spell of the nitwit North?

Grow up and find a damned job...no one held a gun to these people's heads.

North was getting creamed by Mike and Mike while he was boring what was left of his radio audience to tears.
A lot of sports fans, other than Kirk, have lives....they get up in the morning and prepare to go to their place of employment...they are not sitting in front of the damned TV mesmerized by Hot Dog guy.

Frontman that was very well said, and I think this is a fascinating look at how easy it is to manipulate people with a certain type of ego - people who are probably somewhat self delusional to begin with. Judging by what I saw on channel 11 last night, these guys still don't get it, and I doubt they ever will.

BTW, here's my red flag. Somebody wanted to pay Chet Coppick six figures for anything.

Based on this morning, it looks like some car wash. North had a t shirt on from one. Either that or after the show he's gonna wipe down some cars for tips.

Here's the video of Jesse and George telling the webio story. The two guys still don't get it. Sherman doesn't get it either. It's amazing how dumb they all are. Like others said, George, DON'T say you enjoyed the lavish hotels you douchebag!!! Jesse looks like a puppy trying to cross a busy intersection. They still believe webio could be a success. Mike called Jesse before the show to tell him to spread that word.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Jesse, George and Sherman. Good God!!!

There was a reason George and Jesse were weekend talent. They don't have a brain between the two of them.

Sherman doesn't get the fact that web-based radio will not work NOW. It will work once wifi works no matter where you are; and they can install it in cars. Until then, a web-based broadcast is limited in who it can reach.

Yikes.

Glad George came out of hiding for that ...

Jesse really came across as a pro, well-informed, and somebody I'd want in a management position ....

And was that lady conducting the interview Mr. Sherman's mother? They both seem to share a speech impediment.

Well, if this story ever makes it's way outside of Chicago we can thank these guys for adding to the pile of "dumb Chicago-types" that the rest of the country loves to laugh at...

Doesn't it look like an SNL skit when they introduce the panel and you see the dumb, confused looks on George and Jesse?
