Hear WSCR more places Bit by bit, CBS Radio's all sports WSCR-AM (670) is trying to expand its audience base -- and its ratings. On Wednesday, the station announced that WSCR can now be transmitted directly to iPhone and Blackberry users via a new AOL Radio application. This new means of accessing WSCR frees iPhone and Blackberry users from the need to be near a computer or radio to tune into the station. And WSCR Program Director Mitch Rosen said WSCR listeners who are part of the Portable People Meter sample and tune into WSCR via the new application will count in determining the all-sports station's ratings results. Meanwhile, CBS Radio Chicago Market Manager Rod Zimmerman continues to insist no plans are in the works to simulcast WSCR on a CBS Radio FM frequency in Chicago, despite news that CBS Radio has just introduced all-sports formats on FM frequencies at stations it controls in Boston and Washington, D.C. Adult hits WJMK-FM (104.3) had been mentioned as one CBS Radio outlet that might be commandeered for a WSCR simulcast here in Chicago. But Zimmerman says he's happy with WJMK's performance and has no plans at the moment to drop that station's adult hits format. |

Maybe they should worry more about the disaster that is the on air schedule & the college of show hosts. Score Management needs to listen not speak, & get rid of the assorted retread Newspaper guys who think they are radio hosts. North was right when he said the Producers at the Score were in trouble. I wonder what they did??? |

Mitch = Jim Hendry. He went and got the old guys who were cutting edge 5 years ago and now have lost their fastball. The latest Mitch hires were Mac Bradley and Matt Fontenot. |

That's not the only thing they did..."SCORE Overnights" with Von Steuben's very own Les Grobstein NOW starts at 10p Monday-Thursday instead of 1 or 2a the next morning. The syndicated "Dan Patrick Show" now starts at 1a, although the interviews are available well ahead of time at 670thescore.com. Then Les is on LIVE for one more hour at 4a leading into "Mully & Hanley in the Morning" weekdays... Besides that, the Jenny Jones-looking Kerry Sayers has been doing updates the last couple of mornings when the former Comcast SportsNet anchor/reporter can't seem to find ANY work elsewhere in this recession... |
