North finds a new sponsor

Walgreen's it ain't. But sources say brash broadcaster Mike North has signed a new lead sponsor for his still newish "Monsters in the Morning" sports talk show on Comcast SportsNet Chicago: the Burr Ridge-based Laborers-Employers Cooperation and Education Trust -- commonly referred to by the acronym LECET. It replaces NextStep Medical Staffing, which was founded by David Hernandez, who is now under arrest.

While it is perhaps not a household name, LECET and some of its affiliated labor unions do advertise on other local broadcast outlets. "This sponsor has been fully vetted," said one source familiar with developments.

Now thats a big sponsor! I apologize for everything I ever said about Mike. He certainly can bring in the money. My wife and I were just talking about "LECET" just the other day.

I guess we all are obligated to do research on this company. Its our responsibility to check on this company for North aand bebe.

Hmmm ... an Italian buddying-up with a union money cache ... this can't possibly go wrong.

(so, which endzone will North end up being buried in?)

Always wanting to be supportive of a great broadcaster and Chicago institution like Mike North, I'd like to patronize his new sponsor. If anyone knows a good store in the area to buy some LECET, let me know. I'm sure it's a great product. Thank you.

The whole thing could be filmed like any other Scorsese film (hell, 'score' is part of his name) ... Joe Pesci as Mike, Joan Cusack as Bebe ... CSFMB should draw up the first script.

"This sponsor has been fully vetted," said one source familiar with developments.

"OK. Mike, I'm on Google now. What's the name of this place you want me to check out?"
"Uhh, LECET, Bee. I tink dat's L-E-S-S-I-T. or sometin' like dat. Try dat an' sees what you get."

Many thanks MCV ... I definitely can't compete with that, that's for sure. Entertaining thread imo.

I love these "consumer-oriented" sponsors North gets: high schools, medical staffing companies, suburbs, whatever LECET is . . .

Was David Hernandez ever employed at LECET?

Is this a shell corporation?

Oh, and by the way . . . I see North has gone from "popular" to "brash." Now just change the 'b' to a 't' and we're getting closer to the truth.

Anyone remember the Simpsons episode where the Pittsburgh Steel Workers Union called Homer at 6 AM and wanted to order 10,000 of Marges Homemade pretzels?
Then later that month, Fat Tony showed up looking for his share of the revenue?

No mention of money? hmmm

LECET is big, but once again I question why they would advertise on this TV show? Yes, it is more of a match than a service that places nurses?(lol), but still, unions are not a growing bunch in todays trades, unless of course we get the Olympics and all these guys sign up just so then can get work.

Let's face it though, this smells rotten too.

Great point Rodeo. I would bet they paid half that at most. Especially in these times. This is a short term thing until the real sponsor is ever suckered in. In no way should this convince anyone that this announcement will save THAT show.

I think the only LIFE this show can have is if they cut 2 hours off of it. Somebody should tell North let Jiggets talk,he is sharp & professional.

As bad as sportsrise repeats can be; this show has been horrid. I've been off work this week; and I can't watch more than 5 minutes of it. Everyone has mentioned all the other points, but damn is this show edited and produced poorly. The constant camera work back from Jiggs/North/Wideshot/Jen/North/Jen/Wideshot all within 10 seconds is fucking moronic.

LECET btw does advertise on WBBM's Bear coverage. So they obviously see a demographic in sports shows of the union members seeing if their dues are going to advertising their skills. Whether the decision makers also listen to the Bears' radio package is a question for another day.
