I actually enjoy listening to these two. Although Hampton takes a little while to get his thoughts across; he must be suffering from concussion flashbacks.

Are these two guys going to replace Doug and OB as the Bears postgame team? Does anyone miss Doug and OB?

Yes, regardless of who is on, I will forever pine for my guys, Doug and OB.

The thing I liked about Doug and OB is how they all pumped up about the game regardless of what happened. Sometimes part of my therapy after a loss was to turn those guys on and hear them rip the Bears coaching staff or defense.

I'd rather hear the raw emotion of Doug and OB than Hub Arkush drone on and on like he invented the leather helmet.

Although he's not nearly as passionate as Doug Buffone & Ed O'Bradovich were, Hub Arkush isn't afraid to give the Bears a verbal tongue=lashing whenever they stink. With Doug & O.B. off the 670 AM airwaves, I predict Hub will become the new host of the CBS Radio-owned sports talker's Bears' postgame. Whether or not Dan Hampton will be with him or on sister station WBBM Newsradio 780 and the Bears' Radio Network with the droll-sounding Ron Gleason remains to be heard.

I like Hub a lot, but the thought of listening to Dan Hampton as the Bears expert for 20 weeks turns my stomach. He makes Mike North sound smooth.
If Mitch was smart he would pick up the phone & call Doug & OB immediatly.

Would love for Doug & OB to be back on Score but doubt it will happen. I can't take Hub he just comes off as arrogant as hell to me. Still think he's bitter towards the Bears for firing him from the Radio Broadcasts.

I'm sure CBS management would've love to do that when they're already paying Hampton. It's really easy to play PD when you don't consider financial impact. Did the finances of the radio business turn around in the few months since Doug & OB were cut loose?

I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter, friend!

Hub = Stone without so much smugness (but the dick factor is always there lurking under the surface). Both very knowledgeable; both full of themselves.

Doug & OB = post Bears game radio utopia. Whether they're giddy as schoolgirls or ready to kill anyone they can lay their hands on, they are an entertaining listen and also have quite a bit of football knowledge - but they don't make it a point to shove that fact so far up your ass that you can taste it.

Hamp and OB are both terrible. Hamp can't speak, and OB has nothing to say. I could settle for a combo of Hub & Doug to provide a mix of meatballism and professionalism.

Heres an idea. Get rid of Rosenbloom...and maybe Schuster.

There is no doubt in my mind that Mitch regrets signing Hampton, annd that he would take Doug back in a minute. Smart companies always find a way to hire good people, & if Mitch needs to fire someone to rehire Doug, I could give him a list of 3 or 4 guys who should go.

Yeah, but your list would be Bernstein, Spiegel, Steve Stone, and the receptionist.

I just don't get why you need ringmasters Doug & OB to orchestrate the meatball circus after Bears games.

Plain and simple...it's a show/forum for Bears catharsis.

Actually, my list of guys who should get whacked at WSCR is:

Cowley
Spiegel
Hampton
Rosenbloom
Zaidman
Schuster
Rodewald
And stop buying the Dan Patrick show!

Zach, step into my office. Bears training camp starts in less than a week, but you're fired.

Schu? I'm going to need you to leave the Cubs press box immediately. Yeah, I know it's the 5th inning. You're fired.

Matt, I need to speak with you a minute. I know you've only been on the Mac show for about 2 months but, over your partner's wishes, I'm going to have to let you go now. Pack up your meat. We'll eat the remaining 10 months on your deal. Tell Hampton we're going to need to eat his money, too, and hire Doug & OB back so idiots can yell their nonsensical ideas at them after Bears game.

Is this Cowley at the Metrodome? Hey there. To be honest, I really don't like your work but management is glad we're saving money by using you rather than sending a reporter out on the road. But screw management. Your time is up with us. Did I mention Schuster and Zach have been fired, too?

Rodewald and Rosenbloom? Good morning. You're both fired even though you're cost-effective because you only paid by the shift. Steve, my boss likes to have writers on instead of producers, but I'm going to ignore his wishes and whack you anyway. Matt, you're cheap and pretty good at what you do, but get out of here.

J&M,

I'm curious what you think of the guys on my "your fired" list.

Cowley

Hampton
Rosenbloom

My opinion of them is irrelevant. I was trying to point out the impracticality of playing "fantasy sports radio."

What are we talking about here????

Look at all the $$$$$$$$$$$$ Mitch saved by getting rid of Dumb Ass North.

Add Rogers, Ofman.......

Maybe Ofman can drop by to discuss the budget!!!!!

Yes, it is, but I'd like it to have more basis in fact than a "let's trade Brian Anderson and Clayton Richard for Roy Halladay" type trade idea. I think most of the personalities you listed suck, but I was trying to point out that a PD has a lot of limitations on what he/she can do. You don't believe Mitch thinks some of those guys suck, too?

ASFB, my guess is that a lot of the proposed North money has been used to make up for the shortfall in ad dollars. They hired Mac, Spiegel and Miska, too.

Because this is a Chicago Classic now...these two with smoke coming out of their ears after Bears losses.....this is just great stuff.....
You won't know what you had until it disappears and Hub Arkush is boring people to sleep with his worn out analysis.
Buffone and OB are legendary with that show.....20 years from now you will be in a bar with friends howling with laughter over the stuff they said....Unique Characters make this stuff fun....Old worn out goofs like myself can sit around a bar and tell Jack Brickhouse stories and have tears streaming down our faces with laughter....from his calling Bears games loaded with Kup to those classic live interviews during Cubs rain delays at Wrigley.....
I'd rather have 2 wild men who played the game meatballing it up than one Hub Arkush trying to show how in the know he is.
Period.

John, you are beyond correct here.
What is wrong with having LIKABLE ex-Bears on the radio after the Bears game?
Guys that are entertainers and don't know it!!!!

Buffone and OB can't cost that much for a weekly gig during the N.F.L. Season despite having that shrewd BeBe North for an agent at one time or another. :)
They are not going Nationally anytime soon.

There is nothing wrong with fun.....Buffone and OB are fun.....we can all watch the game and see why the Bears won or lost....Hub Arkush could not analyze a game when that was his job....I don't need him after the game...
Before...during the week...fine....he is an asset....he is interesting and informative...
But fun doesn't describe Hub Arkush.
