Funny, Mariotti trumped Wells for MVP on ATH.

Actually he talked about Wells being the surprise player of the year not the Cy Young. I hate Mariotti but even he would not suggest that.

I have been extremely high on Wells so far this year.

IMO:

Rookie of the Year: Yes, if he pitches well the rest of the year.

Cy Young: No.

Agreed. The kid has a very good shot at NL Rookie of the Year IF his numbers hold up.

But Cy Young? Are you kidding me?

I like Wells as much as the next Cubs fan, but unless Pablo Sandoval got too many AB's last year with the Giants, which he may have, he will be ROY.

If Sandoval had too many AB's to qualify, I think Wells will certainly be in contention.

Exactly my point. IF Wells' numbers stay strong; and nobody else makes a case for it; then he's in the running. But I think Sandoval qualified as a rookie last year; but I might be wrong.

The number for rookie at bats is minimum 130. Sandoval had 145. Looks like Wells is in good shape
