From Feder's column today: Jimmy Piersall, who was cut after 14 years as baseball analyst at CBS Radio's WSCR-AM (670), has landed at ABC-owned ESPN Radio WMVP-AM (1000). He'll be a baseball contributor and a regular on Bruce Levine's weekend show.

What a joke. Is this how you expand your stable of talent? Old, slow and dumb. Now i know why I'd rather listen to the Score over MVP the majority of the time.

This more of a sooner/later than an over/under but I'll say April 15. That give them about 8 weeks from the start of spring training.

From an Ed Sherman article published January 20th:

Piersall said he hopes he hasn't offered his last opinion for public consumption. He intends to make some calls to see what's out there.

The reality is there's not much. His former boss at WSCR, Jeff Schwartz, now is the station manager at the city's other sports talker, WMVP-AM 1000. Schwartz said he has no plans to bring in Piersall.

Schwartzy, who you crappin'!?!?!?! It sucks that we couldn't finally get this windbag off of the Chicago airwaves!

I didn't see the column, but hopefully Piersall is just going to be a weekly guest on BB365. I can't see Jimmy having the patience, professionalism, or material to help Bruce fill 2-4 hours.

If there's a bright side to this, Piersall sometimes brings good stuff to the table, and maybe he'll be able to actually finish a sentence since he won't be on with Murph anymore.

Plus, this is a Saturday show, if you're going to use Piersall, use him on a Saturday show, not prime radio time.

I understand Jimmy is going to be given a Monday evening slot on the MJH Show:

"Monday Night Jimmy"

It will continue the continuity of Monday Night John's nonsensical ramblings.

Would love to hear what Piersall thinks about the Milo--Harry thing---did he give his 2 cents yet?

I could give 2 shits for Jimmy's 2 cents on anything. The guy brings nothing to the table. He doesn't follow today's game, he's constantly patting himself on the back. No reason to put this bitter old bum on the air (unless they want to give him that 5am fishing show).

On a side note, nice avatar...
