Who at some point thought it would be a good idea to put an open microphone in front of Steve Rosenbloom? Why is he on the air? The King was a nice, easy listen on my Saturday morning drive to work. Sometimes I would even carry over and listen during work. Now I find myself rushing to burn mix cds for my Saturday mornings. Rosenbloom is ruining my Saturday mornings.

DO NOT WANT.

I'm puzzled why Steve Rosenbloom is back on Team SCORE Saturday mornings myself. Although I do remember him tag teaming with Dave Baum & I believe Steve Olken during the sports talker's early years down the dial, I've never really cared for Rosenbloom the sports talk show host, let alone his column in the Chicago Tribune. Besides, I didn't care for "Rosie" and Sean Salisbury when they briefly hosted middays on ESPN Radio 1000. The times Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch has hosted on SportsRadio 670, whether on Saturday mornings or during the week before the recent programming shuffle to accommodate Dan McNeil & Matt Spiegel middays, I've been pleasantly surprised how passionate "Whip" really is about sports and I believe if SCORE Management offered him a full-time slot, whether solo or with a partner, Brian would be even better.

Rosey is a miserable human being, he really adds nothing but PTFB to the station. Hopefully, his deal at the Trib is almost over and he can find a job being a hack in another town.

Even weirder since I asked him that question last week.

And unfortunately as of then the answer was no.

I am also a miserable human being, so I think he adds a bunch. He could stand to not use his catchphrases like ten times in an hour (sent him to his room without dessert), but he's still a good listen. While he and Paruch are both good hosts, and it's a good show, the pairing doesn't really make sense, nor is the whole bigger than the sum of its parts, if that makes any sense.

When he was paired to Bernsie a few months back, Rosenbloom sounded damn good...

I also always enjoyed Baum and Olken on the way to a weekend breakfast...

Soup,

You are so right. He starts out today accusing somebody of being, "cynical, sarcastic, and smarmy". That is the definition of what he does. He adds nothing to a baseball conversation but cheap shots.

Just before 9:00 they play a bite of Pinnella saying they want to win as many games as they can as the season winds down. Rosenblum then takes a couple cheap shots about Pinnella and his salary.

But WHAT WAS THE QUESTION Pinnella was answering? I bet it was something like, "Is it time to give up the season, play young guys, and shut down Zambrano/Soriano/Ramirez?". In which case the answer is reponsive and makes perfect sense.

He's just a sarcastic know-it-all. And Brian did used to be an easy informative listen on Saturdays.

You too? Seems like somebody is repairing the Score to "back when they were good." (a subjective thing, obviously.) But we got Les back (still don't understand why they don't promote the fact that they even have an overnight show.) and there's Rosenbloom on Saturdays.

I wonder why no Murph on evenings? White Sox do make that tough...

If Mike Murphy isn't going to be scheduled, the time has come for 670 The SCORE & the SCORE original to part company. Here's something else...If Jason Goff & Matt Abbatacola are lucky to get an airshift or two on the weekend, how come SCORE management has given a weekly Saturday night show with Joe Ostrowski & John "Rock" Mamola?

Whose show is having ratings problems versus ESPN afternoon product? I imagine this has some bearing on Drinky & Jason doing solo shows. They're free to correct me, but that's my read...

Rosenbloom comes off as a major asshole. Up until this week, I had to drive from Rockford to Elmhurst every saturday. Terrible listen.

I'm not a Rosenbloom or Baum fan. I was happy when it used to be a Saturday morning show of Holmes and Abbatacola.

Actually, Spmack, it was LoHo, Drinky and Zach Zaidman waking up Chicago sports fans very briefly...That was before Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch started waking up fans as both host & update guy about 2 years ago on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com before Steve Rosenbloom somehow rejoined WSCR a few months ago...

When does the John Clayton sounding Matt Rodewald hold court on the Chicago Sports talker?

I can't help you with that one. :( Joe Bartosch is back in the update chair this afternoon, and likely will be doing the updates the rest of the way on "B & B", and when LoHo does the "Miller Lite Top Draft/Comcast Feedback Zone" tonight before the White Sox/Mariners' game. If you really want your Matt Rodewald fix, you can see him on NBC5's local version of the "Today Show", usually with the Jimmy Fallon-looking Rob Elgas & the America Ferrera-looking Zoraida Sambolin weekday mornings 4:30-7a doing traffic. You can also see Rodie make a fool of himself dancing at the end of the Friday morning newscast...

Dunno, but they had the Kerry Sayers-sounding Kerry Sayers do a shift.

I dont see any attitude or bite, just information that you read on other web sites & post here like you think are the Robert Feder of the Internets, but without the interesting nuggets & tidbits.

Why is the word "somehow" in this sentence? Did he aimlessly wander around town until he happened to go to the NBC Tower and walk into the station? Obviously they hired him. Just say he rejoined the station. This act, this fucking act.

Curious, I was aware that Mac & Les Grobstein were back on the sports talker...Rosenbloom, not so much until recently...
