Looks like this year it'll be the late local news and then a short sports show with Adamle. No more extended postgame. I'll miss Laurence Holmes making awkward passes at Paula Faris. |

It caught me off guard as well. The way NBC5 did it a year ago was that they did 15 minutes of "Sports Sunday", followed by 15 minutes of NBC5 News with Anna Davlantes & the luckiest S.O.B. in Chicago TV News Rob Stafford with a Ginger Zee weather report to boot. Then, "Sports Sunday: The Postgame Show" was so awkward, from LoHo looking over Paula Faris' shoulder to Lance Briggs looking like he was going to be a bouncer at Crobar to even a Drinky sighting. Matt Abbatacola was on there once with a suit, shirt & tie, but looking as Terry Boers might say "By Cracky!" with a beard... I guess they've revamped things considerably now, starting with 15 minutes of NBC5 News and then Mike Adamle & Daryl Hawks with "Sports Sunday", complete with #99 breaking down the game... |
