STOLEN FROM LARZ -
It's true. The month of September this year is now officially Chetember. There are so many Chet Coppock-related news stories happening lately that it is high time to just name the month after the legendary Chicago sports talker. Even with all the Chet items mentioned over the past couple of weeks, here are a bunch more that are happening now and in the coming days:

* * It's the return of Coppock On Sports! Yes, COS is back! Unfortunately, it's not on the radio as it should be, but at least it's in printed form now. The Chicago Tribune's blog site, Chicago Now will feature regular contributions by Chetster. Chicago Now has not yet created a logo or done any advertising for their newest blog yet. In fact, you can search high & low on the site and even enter "Chet Coppock" into the search function and come up with nothing. However, I just happen to have a direct link to the COS page on Chicago Now for you all: Chet Coppock's "Coppock On Sports" on Chicago Now. http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/coppock-on-sports/

* * It was pushed back by a few days from the original date, but this Friday, Chetember 25th, is the official release date of "Fat Guys Shouldn't Be Dancin' At Halftime," Chet Coppock's brand new book. It will be available at bookstores all over Chicagoland, online booksellers and the CRM store at this link HERE. http://astore.amazon.com/chiradandmed-2 ... 1600782698

* * Chet will begin his busy day this Friday on the WGN Morning News. (I hope WGN-TV's sports legend, Skip Parker can be part of the show, too.)

* * Sometime late Saturday morning (Chetember 26th), Chet Coppock's interview with Rick Kaempfer should appear on the excellent Chicago Radio Spotlight blogsite. http://chicagoradiospotlight.blogspot.com/

* * While not exactly inside the month of Chetember, five days later on October 5th, there will be a launch party & book signing for "Fat Guys..." at Moonshine (1824 W. Division Street, Chicago) starting at 6:00pm and going on until the cows come home (or until the bar closes at just before 2:00am).

* * Chet has also announced that he will soon be doing some podcasts. He will be partnering up with Chicago area native, Denny McLain -- the last Major League Baseball pitcher to win 30 or more games during a season and a man who has led a... well... "colorful" life himself, having spent a few years behind bars (and not the Moonshine kind of bars, either).

Happy Chetember everybody!

It is a real joke that Chet does not have a regular radio gig. I think he would sound great in the morning slot (with a Fred Huebner) leading into a Danny Mac broadcast.
