I , and others, have said it for years that these constant attempts by him to produce his own shows whether Cable, Internet, Radio are a total disaster.

He will have a decent show once he just becomes and employyee again. Someone pairs him with another person that can stand working with him and he then his star will be ont he upswing.

There are 2 sports radio stations in town. North left the Score. They are set and wouldn't hire him back anyway. M&H do better than North did. Mac just got hired and B&B are safe. ESPN 1000 has a national morning show that always beat North. Silvy and Waddle are doing fine. Silvy got a new deal. The "Afternoon Saloon" beats B&B. ESPN 1000 doesn't need him. No other radio station in town wants him.

We don't have any local TV except for the morning and evening news and Comcast shows. Comcast fired him and 2,5,7,9 and 32 sure as hell don't need Mike North. Like I said, these stations do news.

The answer is there are no more options.

Does he have any friends left at Chicago Tonight or has burned his bridges there too?

Beardown, you forget that North was on NBC-5 doing morning spots with Ellie Pae Hong and Dick Johnson.

He'll be back on someone's station doing either Sports or a variety show.

His star was falling in his final years at the Score when he was never that big of a star anyway. Then he fails at webio and Comcast. PDs and GMs are gonna take him on now? Not to mention the fact that he got involved with a felon. He brought a felon to Comcast!!! He made management over there look like fools. You think other PDs and GMs want to risk their reputations and careers with Mike North? Why is he worth the risk? Especially since he had low ratings at the Score and Comcast. He's done. I mean Comcast didn't really hire him anyway. They didn't give him big money. It was a "we'll split the profits" thing and there were no profits.

So are you saying that Mike North will never work in Chicago TV or Radio again???
I'll take some of that action!

How is LECET going to advertise anywhere else? Maybe that wasnt such a big deal?

Post subject:  Re: North's Next move

Let's not forget that the only reason Comcast agreed to do this was because they thought they hit the jackpot and found a sucker with the David Hernandez "Next Step" money. The show wouldn't have been launched if they weren't counting on that "false money".

How did Comcast think 300k for 6 months from "Next Step" was legit when nobody gets that type of money for a show like this? When they couldn't get anything close to that from other sponsors. Their "Title Sponsor" for "Sports Nite" doesn't give close to that so they should have known.

Post subject:  Re: North's Next move

I'm willing to bet that the most money Comcast gets from a sponsor is from Budweiser for about 100 Cubs games. Miller Lite for 100 Sox games is 2nd cuz the Cubs get more viewers. I wonder how much those 2 sponsors pay.

After I read this I went to the website and saw him there talking politics. BTW, I thought that host died, but looks like he just lost a lot of weight. Anyway, this is why thinks he's so great, when shows like this ask him to talk about politics. No wonder he describes himself as the most versatile radio personality in chitown.

Easy. Listen to the Bears games on WBBM. LECET advertises there. Worry not for them

I have a serious question for those of you that continually defend Mr. North.

Why?

What has he done within the last year or two that should engender such fierce devotion?

And I’m talking only in terms of actual work product, completely aside of the Webio debacle or other questionable business decisions he’s made. Even if he personally is a nice guy who is simply misunderstood, who cares? That's not a reason to keep trotting him out on TV and radio so he can stutter incoherently to the masses. Just about everyone here agrees that his best days were many years ago, so why defend someone that has been providing a markedly sub par product for quite some time? Especially when he constantly insists the shit he's shoveling down everyone’s throats tastes like filet mignon. Other than the obvious trolls, can any of you tell me with a straight face that The Monsters is a good program? That Mike’s words of wisdom somehow provide a keen incite to the sports world? That this show is entertaining for any other reason than the laughs that could be gleaned from the horrible production values, Jen Jen's pathetic attempt at acting like a media professional, Dan’s ever expanding girth or Mike's teenager wardrobe?

Maybe I'm missing something so please, if I am, help me out and clarify it for me because I don’t get it.

if pappy wakes up and realizes his big paycheck days are done, he will find something, if not, he will be sitting home for a long time. Like bigfan said also, whatever it is, he cant have any control of over, its been proven he cant create anything from scratch.

Webio killed this guy.

MITM was running on fumes once the felony play came out.
Nort brought a felon into circles he shouldnt have, then tried to act the fool outta it, and uberly failed.

Mike Nort is the biggest bag of fail this side of Mike Vick. But the funny thing is, there will be another team willing to kick the tires on Vick, he has talent.

Nort doesnt. Hes a shock jock/jagoff who's prime was a few months, not years.Take a shock jock like Howard Stern, which is exactly what Nort wishes he was, Stern knew how to self promote the right way, and was a rather funny guy who surrounded himself with funny guys. Nort just took what he was given, and many of those were no talent hacks.

Norts career here is dead, he will be lucky if he can catch on in another state. The Webio disgrace hangs on his head like a tiara made out of shit.He will never live that down.

Supermult, I actually agree with a lot of what you said, but I have no doubt that North will be back on someone's station in 2010.

Cup- Some people just don't know when to quit.

I admit that most of my devotion is based on passed performance. I would take those days farther back than your 2 year time line even.

Still, when Mike had a partner he respected on was focused exclusively on the work, he had a show that was unique and entertaining.

His breaking up the SCORE golden age lineup reads like a Greek tragedy. Everyone involved was hurt but it was the person with the big ego for whom the god's saved up the biggest punishment.

North blew his chance years ago when he could have gone national with his 'regular guy' act. Now everybody is doing that act, and it's sort of been a been there done that thing. But some guys like JT THE BRICK (who sucks) still do the regular guy act and are still syndicated throughout the country.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if North & Jiggetts had accepted the job at WFAN in New York years ago.

ya it did exist, at least from what North Jiggs said years back. I think it was when they were on the score for the first year they got a big million dollar offer from WFAN the next year.

I taught the North watchdogs proved that false.
