BRUTAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you have to explain your pop-culture references, maybe they're better left unsaid. Leave the on-air caller dress-downs to the professionals. You're awful at it. This was self-important jag radio at its worst. I can't wait until his deal is up. Isn't that why they are stuffing Larry into all of these spots? |

I can't remember the last time I listened to him. I got tired of his patronizing ass talking to me like I'm 3. |

Case in point, the discussion with Nicole from Portage. He takes 5-7 minutes to break down points about the phone conversation. At the end, he concludes with a statement about having to send out copies of the call to listeners. Reallly???? I can't believe that he didn't interrupt his commentary with a plug for his Bears blog. |

I do agree with some on this board who think he's trying to be a Dan Bernstein clone. It doesn't work. Everything with this guy seems forced. |

I'd like to know why his self-promotion commercials are written / presented the way they are. I mean, even if you'd never heard the guy before, if your first exposure to LoHo were those spots for his show, you'd think he was someone who apparently has no business being on the air and knows it, he hadn't been around long and lacked proper experience on his own, and was still forming and expressing thoughts like a 12-year old Urkel. Not that you wouldn't have made an accurate assessment, but I'm saying - if you're going to do spots about your own show, don't make such .... well, there's no other words for it .... don't make such a fucking retarded-sounding spot. |

There is a little bit of LoHo relief after tonight's "Miller Lite Top Draft Show" broadcast at O'Donovan's, 2100 W. Irving Park. Hub Arkush & Dan Hampton tag team tomorrow from 7-10p and Jason Goff holds court following the Thursday night NIU football game vs. Eastern Michigan, around 9:30p or so... |

It's funny that you mention this spot. Cuz I thought the same thing when I heard it. The spot makes you dislike him if you haven't heard him do a show. I think he changed it after it ran for a couple of days cuz when it first came out the part where he said "AND THEN IT'S ME, Laurence Holmes" was very squeaky and annoying. Then it wasn't all of a sudden. That just stuck out to me so I was able to tell that it was changed. It's still annoying but less squeaky. Since this spot is produced it's almost like Larry is trying to be annoying. He wants to present himself as a jack ass. Cuz you shouldn't do the spot this way if you can do a couple of takes. At least most people wouldn't do it this way. |

not 11/1 but didn't want to start another loHo thread I got in the car around 6:30 or so last night and Larry was on with some Bear, can't remember who- think it was Anthony Adams Anyway, some total thugging gangsta guy calls in and it was absolutely hilarious...i'm not sure how larry and him were able to keep their composure. guys went on for about 5 minutes with "what up fam", "i know you know the word on the street", "let me holla at you for a sec"...seriously, went on forever until he got to his question/comment which was to say that the O-line was soft. it was some classic uncomfortable radio as there was just silence for a few seconds before adams says "if you think they're soft i'd like to see you suit up and go out there" i sat there hoping and praying this guy would call into B&B, he'd be their new hero |

The Bears' big, bulky nose tackle was LoHo's guest at O'Donovan's, 2100 W. Irving Park Rd., for "Miller Lite's Top Draft Show". One of the hours was sponsored by Subway, and #95 seemed to encourage fans to eat the likes of the Meatball Marinara, the double cheeseburger and other foods that are high in calories and likely to increase one's chances of a grabber... |

That spot is weird, becausefirst it's Larry talking, but then they just recycle the imaging guy rattling off the weekday lineup, and then Larry tacks on "and then me. . . " himself. It doesn't flow to me. Why can't Imaging Man say Larry hosts 6 to 10? |
