Her many responsibilities include coordinating guest bookings for CSN's locally-produced programs, along with feature segment producing and some on-air appearances. Charlie Schumacher, the Senior News Director for Comcast SportsNet Chicago said this about Patterson: "Jen has proven herself to be a rising on-air and off-air TV talent in our city and we're thrilled she'll be with us to lend her expertise to our newsroom." Jen Patterson, who has a degree in broadcast journalism, is best known around Chicago as the long-time producer for Mike North's radio, Internet and television ventures. She started working at WSCR as an intern in 2004 and worked her way up to Associate Producer, and eventually, Executive Producer with WSCR's morning show, where she earned the nickname "Jen-Jen the Engine." Her most recent position was that of the Associate Producer and weather/traffic/sports update anchor for Comcast SportsNet's "Monsters in the Morning" program, which just had its final show at the end of last month. A little known fact about Jen Patterson is that she was the very first intern ever at Chicago's Comcast SportsNet. She now returns there as a proud member of CSN's staff. Patterson officially begins her newsroom duties this coming Monday, January 11th. |

It is good for her. She gets away from North. She needed to do that. Comcast keeps her off camera. Smart. That would have been embarrasing for her and Comcast. They realize she can't do it. Congrats Jen Jen. Will she do cartweels for Dave Kaplan now? |

I hope she gets some needed career advice to work hard and develop some acumen. She will not make it on looks alone. She'll always be somewhat indebted to North for the chance to start to her career in media—similarly to McNeil's benefiting from the largess from Swirsky and Coppock—but McNeil is where he is today because of dedication to his craft. It's a good path for her to follow. |

She got her journalism degree Jimmy....She went to college. got the same degree Carmen did. She may have gotten her start because of her looks, flirting with North, whatever...who knows? but she kept it with Comcast because they think she is valuable. |

Should I wish that she not work? She interned, worked with North for a while, and got a job. Good for her. |

It is not like she is a high school drop out that only got the gig because she was pretty. |

Yeah. She's gonna book guests for Kap and edit video. Valuable? Let's not go overboard. On air talent is all that matters. Anybody can do what she's gonna do. Hey, now she can book North. But I doubt Comcast will want him back. |

We're CSFMB. Our thoughts should go to the guy or girl that Jen replaced. Somebody was booking guests and editing video before Jen took over. We don't know who that was but I care about all Chicago media people. Including the unknowns. Shark, get on that. Who did Jen replace? Let's get him or her on the board for an interview. |

Very nice,J&M. By summer,Comcast will have her working the stands at Cubs and Sox games,interviewing fans during the game. Not a bad idea,something different in a broadcast. Like to see her in the Bleachers when it's about 90 degrees. |
