Its over.

B & B is clearly the better show. I listened to MJH since its inception. It was good. It was good because of MAC and Jurko.

Ive tried several times to listen to CJH. Its just not happening.

Carmen De Falco
DeFalco is not a good listen. He's still arrogant. He's not nearly as knowledgeable as he considers himself. The arrogant persona CAN WORK (See Bernstein)...but Carmen just doesnt pull it off. His anti cub feelings are waaay too transparent. I understand its human to be a fan of one team and maybe even dislike the other. Mac did this. Jurko does it. With Carmen its just more annoying and absolute. His interviewing skills are terrible especially when compared with his former partner Silvy. Going back to the days of MJH when Carmen would host it was bad. Jeff Dickerson is a way better host and an enjoyable listen in my opinion.

So you have all these issues with the guy who was supposed to replace your biggest star? Bad Move.

Harry Teinowicz
Sucks. It really could be summed up with just that one word, but lucky for you I AM in the mood for details. Actually ill start with a question...Who likes Harry? What demographic? Fat Nerdy failed comedians? As much as I liked MJH, it thrived despite Harry. He's not funny. His voice is like nails on a chalkboard. He has no experience playing proffessional sports, amaetur sports, or broadcasting. Why exactly is he on sports radio? What are his qualifications?

If its the everyman thing youre going for, there are far better options. Also Harry is not an everyman. Every man is not rich, fat, and douchy.

Harry's voice= Win for Boers and Bernstein

Jurko
Still good. Being dragged down by his partners.
The Carmenoiwicz twins are so bad I can't listen.

I dont know if management actually reads this board. I dont really care. But to me ESPN 1000 has said FUCK YOU to the MJH listeners.

Well Ive got a two word reply for them

Uh, no. Not as long the first "B" is a part of the show. Boers could be summed up in the same one word you used for harry.

I slightly edited your paragraph on Harry. Terry & Harry are very similar, yet so very different. Harry actually knows something about current events, players, teams, etc. I'm not a HUGE fan of Harry's, he's just not nearly as bad as Boers is.

Terry can't lace up his own shoes either. I can guarantee you they are black and grey with two velcro straps.

Honestly, the three qualifications that RPB bashed Harry for:

1. Never played pro sports
2. Never played amateur sports
3. No prior experience in broadcasting

All 3 of those pertain to Terry as well.

List any positive attributes you have for Boers. Any special qualities he has that make you tune in to listen to him. I'll hang up and listen.

**Once again, please don't read any of this as "defending Harry" - it's more like clearing up the perception that B&B is so superior due to Harry's ineptness.

1. Boers can put a sentence together without spitting all over himself by cracky.
2. Boers continually makes me laugh by cracky.
3. Boers is smart enough to make so many dopes actually believe that he does not watch sports or pay attention by cracky.

Harry is simply a pud that takes up air time and contributes nothing to the show. Mac knew it, that is why he struggled so much with him and having to carry his fat ass for all those years.

Almost every one of Terry's "Roar of the Day"'s were more interesting than anything Harry has ever said.

Terry is really good some of the time and really bad some of the time. Harry is bad all the time.

Terry was a sports writer for a major newspaper. I should have included that in broadcasting. Replace broadcasting with media.

I dont totally disagree with your overall point though

 The other two reasons may be up for debate (Boers doesn't make me laugh) - but I can't let this one slide. Is this serious? Boers never, ever, finishes a sentence without just cutting himself off by saying "No. No. Just........No. " Or "Eeeeeeeeeee-aaaaaaaaa-eeeeeee". Unless the sentence consists of simply "That's right. I agree." after Berns makes along, coherent statement.

**BTW - the whole "I don't watch sports" is a little bit of an absolute, obviously he watches some, but he never goes to any games and is generally uninformed enough that I pretty much believe him when he says this.

That is a pre-scripted "rant" that he occasionally dropson us (PTFB time for me, BTW). The basic may or may not be his, but someone types that for him. And it's basically an excuse to build in a commercial read for a car dealer.

No doubt there is some of this along the way. But Boers can and does put coherent intelligent sentences and thoughts together. As Rick pointed out, any one of his roars of the day were far and away better than anything Harry has every contributed to the show. Boers was a journalist in the city for quite a while and that alone makes him more qualified than anything Harry has done.

Because you have to actually attend events to have an opinion on things, right?

He watches and pays attention way more than most people believe.

It may be pre-scripted. I doubt someone else writes it for him. However, it's still better and more interesting than anything I've ever heard Harry say. Also, all sports radio is an excuse to have commercials. If it saves me from hearing another Ghost Whisperer ad I'll take the car commercial at the end.

This would be a different discussion, but short answer is: yes. This isn't the same as giving an opinion on Wall St. or the future of medical treatments. Sports are far different in person, and even a casual fan is able to observe far more in person at a sporting event than watching on TV or reading another person's account.

And he's supposed to be more than just a casual fan like you and me.

I think this is just a ridiculous statement and you are grasping at things in your weak attempt to say Harry is less bad than Terry. Terry has probably attended more sporting events in his career than you and I will combined in our lives. So if he chooses to not go to things right now, so be it.

Besides the occasional Cub game and his passion for horse racing, what sporting events does Harry actually attend to make him so much better?

It may be his own, but it always struck me as something that the car dealer approached the station with, rather than Boers creating on his own and then soliciting a sponsor.

And it's something like 30 seconds long. That's not enough to make me think he's a valuable sports-talker.

To (sort-of) build on what RPB was saying, in a perfect world, Bernsie and Jurko would be a great "Odd Couple" type of match-up. They're very different - one takes sports very seriously, the other............not so much.

The Saloon may or may not be the 2nd best show in that time slot, but if we ranked all of the regular shows throughout the day, I could come up with several shows that are worse than CJH.

You're not understanding my POV. I'm not defending Harry, I'm just saying that B&B are not a far superior show than the Saloon just because of Harry on CJH. Boers is an anchor that is dragging down the rest of that show as well.

Spanky, you think Boers voice is on par with Harry's?

I find Harry's vocie more annoying than North, which is saying something.

Also, a point about Harry. Who likes Harry? Seriously? I mean say what you will about Boers but many on this site love him. Even on this board, the home of sports radio geeks, youd be hard pressed to find one guy who says he likes Harry overall. I listened to MJH almost the whole time. No one ever liked Harry. Nobody would defend him and if they did it was a joke.

Even in your anti Boers message, youre careful to point out that you are NOT defending Harry.

Usually someone who is unpopular in a show, a movie, a band, etc....has a small faction of die hard fans to defend him.

Who will defend Harry?

I just dont understand why he has that position. I dont think its cuz he's rich or his FATHA bought his way in. I dont know what it is.

But its odd for to keep running out a seemingly universally disliked character/product.

B&B is clearly a "smarter" show. I flip over to the saloon at breaks and when Bernsey starts screaming unnecesarily at people to prove that he's right about a topic.

I find it hard to rip on any of the saloon guys though. They were great to hang out with at many of the remotes and Harry bought a round of shots for everyone (yeah, I know it was to get us to listen and stay with them...but still).

I'd pick a Saloon remote over a B&B remote/event any day. They are more fan friendly, but I have to admit that I always drift back to B&B for their hilarity when I have to choose on the dial.

Keep it OPEN!
