This Monsters and Money show is a dead show limping already. No way they pay 4 people with alleged names to continue this show. The question is no longer IF, just a matter of WHEN So, where does Mike go next? Spada and North? |

I already suggested this. Back to the HotDog business but also a TV /reality show! Mike has his buddies come by for a red hot,has conversations with a "fast" Eddie,Knuckles,Tom Dreesen, etc. Afterwards the cameras follow Mike to his coaching stint at St. Pat's then home to Be. Sounds good to me! |

He needs to get off the air and get back to his roots. He needs to open a strategically located hot dog/ italian beef place. He can give it some sports theme and meatball the shit out of the place. He needs to make it legit thought, not another Ditka Dogs. Come up with some ridiculous 5 lb hot dog, use whatever connections you make have left and get man vs food and DDD there. |

Wouldn't he have to try and land another radio job? I might normally ask who would hire him, but this board has been surprised before. |

Mike North definitely has a market. It is not a mass appeal market. It is not a network television market. However, this guy will never be on his ass broke. I haven't understood why people like him since the start of the Score. It drove me to the old WMVP in the 90's. I like the sports hot dog stand idea. He could be a figurehead at the locations, talking to the diners, etc. It would probably be huge. He could not be any more out of place on this new CBS thing. |

Stop with this Diner background, while Mike North probes the minds of Chicago D List Celebs, it's never going to happen. The guy is a sidekicking loud mouth who should get paid to add uninformed outlandish comments to his partners factual info. |

I'm not suggesting this be on television. I mean he actually owns and operates a restaurant or more. A sports bar that is a lunch spot. The people that don't like him, which are many, don't have to show up. But, positioned and located in the right spots, I think he could be successful. |

Since the afternoon saloon on AM1000 has become a shitfest, & since they are losing to B&B, I believe that if AM1000 would reunite Jiggetts & North in afternoons & promote the show that they would have a serious chance of beating B&B in the ratings. |

Maybe, but the only way this would happen is if North would actually stick to only talking sports, but we all know he just is not going to do that. He sincerely believes people want to hear him talk about all different types of topics. |

The Mike North morning show was never nearly as good as the Monsters of the Mid day. North had his best success when partnered with Jiggetts in the afternoon. talking sports. I have no doubt they would get better ratings that the saloon. |

He could do a half hour weekly show on channel 11 about the best cheap eats in the city. It would be kind of like Diners, Dives and Drive Ins. He could hire dabeef as his research assistant. To tell you the truth, this is a great idea for a show. Channel 11 could pair it up with Check Please and probably draw a good audience. |

Sounds like Jiggs is doing a respectable job (though I'm not about to tune in to find out). He's not ballsy enough to develop these opportunities on his own. My guess is you'll see North find yet another sucker - maybe FOX to give them WPWR in the morning. North will take over as the driver, and the show will last less than six months. |

But then success slips out of his hands. 1. Done reasonably, this guy could be some sort of a Don Inmus. 2. You could have set him up with a more generic talker to break the ice, but neither candidate, Buffone (who didn't want to do it,) nor Fred (who had limits put on him, besides) weren't that talker, nor was the Score the place to do that. 3. The right time for any of this was when he first went solo. Irons were hot as it were. 4. Now its the wasted podcast, the wasted morning/cable show, and the soon to be wasted morning foray. I really don't want to see a simulated hot dog stand studio, with North barking weird opinions from the cook's area. |

The whole North-Jiggs partnership has a little Jerry Lewis-Dean Martin air to it...when the latter broke up, the prevailing opinion was that Lewis would just outshine Dean Martin....NORTH is the modern Jerry Lewis...he will end up doing those bingo games at Edison Park Fest. |

Zippy-The-Pinhead wrote: The only similarity between North and Imus is they both got into trouble for making offensive comments. North's understanding of anything outside the realm of sports is too limited to build a talk show around. Agree. But in terms of the populace North _might_ attract in, he has similarities to Inmus. But you're also right, he doesn't have chops outside of sports. But with a secondary host who does? (Whilst North learns that side of the biz) Find a (LOL) Dave Baum type As for both getting in trouble for being dopes, wasn't going there, but yeah, they both have... |
