A signature segment dating all the way back to 1973 is back on CBS2 News, sort of. Veteran Chicago newsman Walter Jacobson has started doing his trademark "Perspective" commentaries again on the station's 10p newscast with Rob Johnson. Although details are still being worked out, CBS2 News Director Jeff Kiernan says that Walter's "Perspective" is being planned for Tuesdays & Thursdays on an experimental basis, with possible replays on the station's other newscasts. Now 72 years old, Walter reunited for one newscast with his longtime co-anchor on "THE TEN O'CLOCK NEWS", journalist turned AT&T pitchman Bill Kurtis, last November in a "sweeps" stunt. Walter had kept a low profile since FOX32 decided not to renew his contract as principal news anchor in 2006 after he & Robin Robinson anchored that station's signature 9p news for 13 years. |
