Swore I would never watch this but I'm up early...

Jiggs opens - lots of shit spread on the table. Jiggs stumbled on the word coffee.
Heggs looks slimy. North fake crying over Lindsey Vaughn's injury. These two are freaky. Can them both.
Jiggs stumbles over another word introducing a Toyota story.

Heggs is wearing a brown sweater that looks like his hair.

Hegedus introduces Lidar story. North has to jump in right away. Jiggs stumbling again while talking about Lidar.

Jiggetts handling Chelios story. North mentioning personal experience of his test years ago - trying to balance while with a bad hamstring and having case thrown out.

Here's Mary kay Kleist. Not MILFish enough for me. Dressed in a silk shirt. Here's Susan Carlson - She needs to read off the teleprompter and not the paper. She's constantly looking down. Jiggs asking Susan about Madigan's legislation regarding the Lt. Governor post. Susan's eyes are twitching all over the place while she's responding. This just looks odd.

Jiggs talking about Greek debt crisis - throws to Terry Savage. Shit Terry - you know shit about international finance. Hegedus again - this guy is fucking weird.

Hegedus - introduces story on banning styrofoan. He's throwing this to North.

From North - "Ed Burke is one of the great socialist aldermen of all time." Savage tries to salvage this by shifting discussion away from Burke to the McDonald's example of shifting away from styrofoam. North - "McDonald's is a multi-trillion dollar a year business."

Also from North - "Styrofoam is a little touch of Americana - like cole slaw."

This is fucking bad...bad. I hate this show. I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate this show. I hate the fact anyone on WBBM thinks this is a good idea. Hate every last second of it.

Commercial with a test of the EBS and the commericials were fucked up again.
Kleist opens - she's the best part of this show.
Susan Carlson reading off the paper again - looking down. She's holding a remote control in her right hand. She read a White House economic outlook report - which prompts an interruption by Terry Savage (not bad) - but then North has to get in on this. Put the remote down, Susan. And stop talking over her, North.

Hegedus intros a foreclosure story into a quick market overview. He looks old and creepy...but the report was fine.

Jiggs intros the Rose injury. Now onto the DePaul women's basketball - little stumbling again. Did Jiggs suffer a mini-stroke? Throws Northwestern to North. North's talking and they cut to Hegedus' face - he's just nodding and looking like he's trying to take a crap.

Here's Hegedus talking sports - Arizona's been in the tourny 25 years or so...blah, blah...

Jiggs intros story about Michael Vick. Terry Savage asking questions about Vick - wasn't he a great quarterback when he wasn't giving full effort?

Over/under celebrity birthdays. Wow - this is exciting. They all go around the table and pick over or under based on an age thrown out - Jennifer Aniston, Sarah Palin and Burt Reynolds today. This was exciting. Went to commercial with the Smokey and the Bandit theme.

So we've come out of commercials. Jiggs stumbled over the time.

Terry's worried about rising foreclosures. Hegs has Mike North's teeth.

Starting with the Bulls. North's in a blue t-shrt that almost looks like he spilled shit on it - and he has a beige zipped sweater/jacket over it. North has to get a Bebe reference in - and thanks her for making cookies for Valentine's Day.
Hegedus asking what the injury does to the Bulls. Here's a Norm Van Lier reference.

Hegedus on Internet sites seeking donations to people. Throws to Terry for input. Now to North. The camera in the middle of the table gives some weird angles. North mentions a ponzii scheme

Now to Mary Kay - purple silk shirt. I'd hit this I think if I were drunk. Off to Susan again. Stop looking down you fucking twatsack. Drop the fucking remote, too. You're an anchor - why are you waving your hands all over?

Holding up the paper - camera covering half the column she's showing. This has some great production values.

Jiggs intros the Lt. Governor legislation - camera view of Hegedus while he's leaning back in his chair. Nothing to add to story.

Off to commerials.

38 minutes have passed. This is brutal. Hegedus apparently nailed the constipated/taking a shit look by studying North.

Post subject:  Re: Monsters Feb. 11 play-by-play

Mary Kay again. They opened showing a bunch of pics of North in a Blackhawks sweater - Mary Kay said, "Looking good, Mikey." Here's Susan Carlson - fire her already. Her news updates are useless.

Terry Savage with the business calendar. She's not a good host. Was a good reporter, though. Sad to see her career taking such a downturn.

Jumps from the business calendar to the Bulls  . Just an odd transition. Now jumping to the auto show. Jiggs is really stumbling here. Tough listen.

Joe Weisenfelder of cars.com is on talking about the Toyota problem. Terry asks why they started the cars.com website in Chicago  . Terry again - what do we look for at the auto show? Edge, Fiesta, etc from Weisenfelder.

Hegedus looks like an English professor how he's dressed right now. That's why he looks so creepy. That explains it.

To commercials - will be back with e-mails. Hegedus going over the evening TV schedule.

A few comments:

1) Something is wrong with Jiggs. I remember him being smoother than this. He stumbled over a bunch of things...Might seem minor but he was doing it repeatedly.

2) Hegedus needs to spend a day with the Queer Eye guys. Total makeover. Must avoid the English professor couture.

3) Terry Savage - she's nothing more than a reporter/correspondent. Does not belong here.

4) Mike North - does not belong here.

5) Susan Carlson - has to be one of the worst anchors in Chicago. Take the fucking remote out of her hands. Glue her hands to the table. And train her to look directly at the camera.

Post subject:  Re: Monsters Feb. 11 play-by-play

I may be idiot, and obviously I can't see the show, but it sounds like Hegedus, Jiggs and North are doing the work on this show, with contribs by Savage and Carlson. Wasn't it last week where North wasn't allowed to comment on business stories?

Jiggs stumbling... well geez, he's always done some of that. I can't gauge if he's off the charts worse now or not. He's like Boers insofar as he uses that for gravitas. I know being up and in front of a camera at 5am would do a lot for MY diction.

Still it doesn't sound like a well-oiled machine. Carlson goes first (says it like I means it.) Jiggs they keep cause he can intro segments (with stutters.) The rest are the peanut gallery. Is North entertaining/outrageous enough to keep?

Remember WMAQ-AM using Pat Cassidy as the main anchor and spinning it off to others to handle extended segments? That's the idea here - Jiggs is the driver, steering it to the other three. Unfortunately Terry Savage was a personal finance reporter - not an international finance expert. She's certainly not a sports person. Probably did the most talking out of the four.

Hegedus - not sure what his background was on MSNBC. But he spoke the least. They cut to him several times while others were talking, and he looked like he was trying to squeeze out a turd. I think he probably had the most to offer - if they would clean him up.

Only Mary Kay looked like she knew how to dress for TV. The rest were rather unprofessional, and they looked the part.

C_Howitt_Fealz deserves a medal. This is tough show to watch. Excellent insights. I cannot listen, yet try because it is like watching a train wreck in slow motion. You cannot look away. Viewing suggestions.

-Whoever developed the layout for this show needs to rethink what they created quickly.
-The camera shot they have chosen when going to weather forces everyone but Hegedus to turn 180 degrees to see and chat with her. Doesn't work.
-The table camera angle is just stupid. It is too close and provides no benefits for viewers. It seems to only be used on North and Savage. They have another camera from a safer distance. Use it.
-Something has to be done about that desk. Crap is everywhere. The inlaid design is not easy on the eyes if it were clean. Overall effect is they aren't organized and don't know what they are doing.
-The only time I feel comfortable watching this show is if they show the traffic or weather. Use video clips on subject being discussed and not stick one of the cameras in too close to whomever happens to be talking. It is bad and makes the speakers seem nervous. The producer is guessing who will speak (Hegedus) and then the guy stairs into the abyss with nothing to add.

-Savage pimping her website and Valentines Day article in some paper today was self serving IMO. Her suggestion was women don't want candy, flowers or a nice night out. Us men should talk about finances for V-Day so we don't argue over them the rest of the year was a scream. Are you kidding me? Any guy following this advice isn't getting any and may not make it in the relationship to see spring. "But Honey, Terry Savage said this is what we should do....talk about how we are going to pay the rent." (6:55 AM so C_Howitt missed this gem).

-On the bright side, Nort's Hair looked clean, trimmed and coiffed...finally.

I read this board every now and then, what I don,t understand is why you people who keep complaining about Mike North, keep watching him, why would you watch or listen to someone you don,t like, this guy Rodeo Van writes bad things but keeps watching him, I don,t understand, there are a lot of people I don,t like and I would not watch or listen to these people, but could it be that you all really like Mike North and thats why you keep watching or listening to him, mmmmmmmmm?

No Tom, I think people enjoy seeing an egotistical, pathetic clown fail. I know I get a laugh out of it.

North is a talentless fool who has no business being on radio or TV in a major market.
The continuing failure of North is enjoyable , especially after he turned down $800K because it was an insult.

I will not retract my earlier statement.

I will also say that Susan Carlson has one of the wierdest faces I've seen on a woman. The eyes are spread too far apart or something.

For the record, I tuned into North's previous fiasco (Monsters in the Morning) just a handful of times, and not for very long (with one exception where I spent 45 dreadful minutes watching and doing a play-by-play as RodeoVann had taken too many for the team).

This was my first time tuning in to the new show, and given the way it functions it is likely to be my last (someone will euthanize this thing prior to April 1). I only dedicated 51 minutes this morning, and I will not be doing it again. Too painful.
