I honestly have no idea if Fred has popped up on ESPN already (search function here doesn't work, inexplicably), but I just saw that he is going to be doing a tough 105 minute shift on ESPN 1000 this Saturday from 7-8:45. I always thought Fred was a very comfortable, vanilla voice on The Score. He always seemed a bit "too" too happy to be there, but he was pleasant and I thought it was too bad when he left. Hell, I'd go so far as to say I ENJOYED him and Murph when they were teamed together.... Anyway, no idea if they podcast weekend stuff so if you're near a radio on Saturday fire up 1000 to nyum nyum Fred Huebner. |

Fred's probably building a bridge tomorrow night to ESPN Radio 1000's coverage of the WAC Championship Game. I'm not sure if he's doing nothing more than free lance, especially with word that the Chicago Fire, our MLS team recently announced that Fred won't be back for a third season as PBP voice on MY50... |

I liked Fred until he started working with North. He became North's lackey. It was really pathetic at times. |

I met Fred myself at our first CSFMB Bowling Event last year along with ESPN 1000's Marc Silverman, and needless to say, both couldn't have been nicer guys in person. Much like a certain current 670 The SCORE update anchor whose initials are Kerry Sayers, Huebner should be on TV. Memo to local TV news shops...HIRE FRED! |

The Fire has not announced who will replace Fred on MY50's broadcasts, and may not be in any hurry to announce a replacement. Talk is growing that Major League Soccer players may soon go on strike. |

Fred went all in with North and lost. Then again, not sure he had much of a choice at some point. He gets assigned to Norths show and North has the power to hire and fire, we all know what happens if you cross Mike North. |

I agree, Doc....I always like listening/seeing Fred on the Fire broadcasts......You could really tell that he enjoys the game of soccer...It will be interesting to see who they get to take his place. |

Fred kinda lost me when he hitched his wagon to North. He does seem like a nice guy though. I wish him well. |

Did Fred ever really cross North? If Fred would have left The Score with Jen after North left, would Fred had been part of the Monsters show (sports update, production, etc.)? At the time, it was smart of Fred to had stayed at The Score, it's just unfortunate that the CBS brass saw him as expendable a few months later. |

Whats up with Rock? Seems like he stayed with SCR and took what they gave. He's finally in a on a to[rated show and the few times I've heard him he's done alright. Fred should have begged to stay. He aint much to look at like Kerry S. but he's 100 times better any update person than she'll ever be. |

Quote: I agree, Doc....I always like listening/seeing Fred on the Fire broadcasts......You could really tell that he enjoys the game of soccer...It will be interesting to see who they get to take his place. I never had anything against Fred on the 'SCR, but he was pretty poor as the Fire play-by-play guy. I know he is a soccer fan, but he didn't really have the knowledge about the game to offer much. I also hated that he pronounces "Fire," like 'Foyer." Extremely annoying. On the topic of soccer, I always thought the Score or ESPN1000 should put together a weekly, Sunday-night (or something) soccer show. Although you wouldn't know it from listening to sports talk in Chicago, there is a sizable soccer fan-base here. I don't think you could generate interest solely on the Fire, but a weekly show with a Fire roundup and focus on the European leagues would do respectably during an obscure weekend time slot. |

Just wanted to say that I was surprised that Fred actually too a bit of a shot at 'SCR during his triumphant return. |
