You think this plan could work? He wants to get $200-300k from 50 different sponsors (or his other plan that one company would pick up the $15 million tab). I assume this would need to be an annual payment and the sponsors would have no idea which school this would actually go to, it isn't to name any particular facility, and the specific purpose of the funds is not being specified as, according to North, some of it could go to sports, some to music "if there's any left over".

I've heard of schools selling the naming rights to certain buildings, even the cafeteria before. I think Acuity paid $650k to name some school. But, that was a school of their choosing with a one-time payment to name it forever. Also, I think that level of commitment is rare based on the fact that I even heard about it.

I'm not against corporate sponsorship but his proposed "plans" are really not plans at all. Nobody is going to step up based on what he has outlined.

As I have stated, why in the fuck would CPS turn to this moron ? he looks like a fuckin clown, with the beret. several posts have already mentioned that companies are not going to give $300-500k each year for one school in the worst economy in 60 yrs. personally, i would rather see these companies hire workers than give to schools for sophmore sports. these kids will end up playing in leagues outside the schools till they get to the varsity teams.

Why would a company hire more workers when there is no additional work for these new workers to do? If North can raise money for CPS, that's a good thing.

Obviously CBS is NOT jumping at the chance, why would anyone else?

He just wants to get $200,000 from dozens of corporations at a time when companies across the country are trimming any excess expense they can put their collective fingers on.

It's not a lot of money in Mike North's world. No big deal.
