Hey Board members,

I appreciate all the kind, and not so kind, words since the Webio disaster a year ago!

ESPN has given me the opportunity to return to the airwaves to do the thing I love most, talk sports in the greatest city in the country. I worked this week with J.Hood and Jeff Dickerson, two guys I have known for years. It has been great getting back out there. I will be working with JD again next Saturday afternoon, 4/10 from 3-6pm, after the Sox and Cubs wrap up their first Saturday games of the new season.

The Fire decided to go in a "different direction" with the hiring of Dan Kelly as their new play-by-play guy. I'll spend my time concentrating more on the upcoming World Cup and hope to possibly get more International soccer talk going leading up to and through the World Cup since ESPN has the radio rights to the WC. That doesn't mean I have given up on the Fire. I doubt I'll miss a game, but I may watch some with the sound off.

As always, your comments and opinions are always welcome! Hell, you are going to give them anyway, so I may as well embrace them.

Thanks!

Fred Huebner

This is an incredibly self aware comment some of the other hosts should take heed. Best of luck Fred glad to hear you are back on the air!

Good for you Fred ... you are, by all accounts (that I'm aware of anyway - incl'g bowling late last year), a real nice chap and it's nice to see a good guy catch a really nice break!

Just try to do your updates when 670 runs commercials. :P

I don't think Fred Huebner will be doing "SportsCenters" every 20 minutes now that he's with ESPN Radio 1000. Best of luck to a really good guy at his new radio home.

Its good to hear that you'll be allowed to talk soccer, Fred. I've been of the opinion that a once-weekly soccer program would do really well. A show that talked some MLS, but also had a strong European focus would be ideal.

I don't know where Fox is going with the Champions League coverage this year, but it has been great to see some of the games played on CSN.

Most of my soccer friends in town root/tolerate the Fire, but have a stronger interest in the Champions League and the Premiership.

It is interesting to hear that ESPN1000 has the radio rights to the World Cup. How many games are they going to broadcast?

Glad to hear it, Fred. Hope you move into a permanent slot shortly. Am glad to see people landing on their feet. This webio fallout's been going on too long.

Fred I don't believe in some of your quasi Archie Bunker-ness, but I will say that you seem to be one of the more genuine people from the biz and I'm glad to see you back doing what you love. Hopefully you can come out to another Bowling event.

Are you really the lawyer guy??? Just questioning the use of "your" when "you're" would be the correct grammatical choice. Not wanting to be a grammar dick(ess), but I sincerely hope your grammar is better in the documents you file in the courts.

Lawyers have secretaries for that shit, HH.

Lawyers don't have to take basic comp & rhetoric while getting their bachelor degree? No advanced, much less basic, English grammar courses in high school? Four years minimum undergrad and 3 years of law school, but a secretary fixes all of that? Just curious...my B.A. is in Pre-Law...and I've worked as a secretary.
